Food Pantry Starts Next Week!
Dear Noyes Families,
One of our school’s Core Values is Caring for Others. One of the ways we practice caring is by supporting the Sudbury Food Pantry. Next Friday (9/29) is our first collection. The day of the Food Drive, third graders gather and sort the collections and parent volunteers drive them over to the Food Pantry.
We need YOUR HELP! Noyes has the record for the most donations and is always one the biggest contributor; let’s keep working hard! We ask families, if it’s possible, to donate at least three items. Students can bring in donations throughout the entire week! We collect all kinds of items like pasta, cereal, and canned goods, but we cannot accept perishable or expired items.
Every month there will be a different theme (which is very exciting for the kids). September happens to be Hunger Action month. It is promoted nationally and by the Greater Boston Food Collection. The representative color of hunger is orange, so the theme will be to 'Wear Orange" (How much orange can you wear?).
Food Pantry’s wish list this month includes: LARGE SOUPS (Progresso, Chunky), BOXED RICE (Near East, Rice A Roni), BOXED MEALS (boxed potatoes, taco kits), TOMATO (jars of sauce), CEREAL, SNACKS (full-size chips & cookies), CONDIMENTS (salad dressing, ketchup, mayo), BAKING (brownie & cake mix, frosting) and PASTA.
Thank you in advance for supporting this worthy cause. We know it makes such a difference for members of our community and beyond.
Library Volunteers
We are looking for library volunteers to shelve books in our library. Classes with an adult volunteer are able to check out one extra book. Training is mandatory and I will be setting up sessions soon. If you are interested, please reach out by the end of September to our librarian, Barbara Gogan, via email at: barbara_gogan@sudbury.k12.ma.us or stop by the library during Open House.
Car Pick-Up 101
- Have your car placard on the passenger side dashboard visible to all staff.
- Please turn your hazard lights on as you enter the blacktop and then turn them off once you have your children in the car and are ready to go.
- We load the outside lane for pickup first (lane 2). Please follow the instruction of the staff member at the gate.
- Please do not get in line before 2:12 PM.
Picture Day!
Peter Noyes Picture Day is Monday, October 2nd. Please check your child's blue folder for an order form OR you may register online.
If you have a financial concern, please reach out to Mrs. Doyle for assistance.
