A Look Back: Our First Homecoming
Written by Mr. Cherkasky, BASH Telecom Teacher
Boyertown Area High School’s first homecoming event was organized by the Student Council in October of 1966. Since that first year, the homecoming activities have included a football game, a dance, and the crowning of the homecoming queen. During the 2004-2005 school year, the crowning of a homecoming king was added to the festivities.
This year’s homecoming events start with a Pink Out on October 11th when the Bears take on Spring-Ford at 7 PM in Memorial Stadium. At half-time, the homecoming queen will be crowned. The festivities continue the following night with the homecoming dance in the Bear Gym where the king will be announced.
The 58-year tradition of homecoming continues to be one of the most popular events at the high school. Go Bears!

BASH Students Attend Empowerment Day
Submitted by Mrs. Warren, BASH Internship Coordinator
Thirty-five BASH students recently attended the Youth Empowerment Day at the Althouse Arboretum.
The students learned the benefit of volunteering, leadership skills, and met with nonprofits in the community. They also worked on service projects throughout the day. Over 80 students from five regional schools participated. The arboretum provided free transportation and lunch for the students. The students enjoyed their day of learning about voluntarism!
