Old Man Winter!
Greetings Webber Elementary Parents and Students,
It was another great week, including the PTO Jolly Jamboree event and another Lions victory! Also, I'm sure that some of the students were excited to see the white flakey stuff and the resulting snow day. Just a reminder, students should be bringing their winter clothing and outdoor gear each day. The intent is always to go outside, unless we experience negative wind chill temperatures or excessive precipitation. I strongly suggest that you take the time to label those belongings with your child's name. During the commotion of arriving, removing outerwear, and getting dressed again, it is very easy for things to get misplaced.
The Star Wishes holiday assistance program is underway, with the wish list closing on Monday, December 9. Next Friday, December 13, we have a half day for students with dismissal at 12:05 p.m. Recently, teachers have been arranging upcoming classroom celebrations, with some opportunities for parent volunteers. The next round of bagel sales will commence in January. Sign-ups will close December 22.
The holiday break is approaching quickly - two more weeks!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Star Wishes - Holiday Support
Our “Star Wishes” program is underway. Collectively, this is an opportunity for us to make wishes come true for eight different Webber families. Gifts can be dropped off in the main office anytime between now and December 9. The generosity of our community is remarkable, and I would like to thank everyone involved in the Star Wishes program for their efforts. Also, thank you in advance to those families that are able to contribute.
Parent University - Social Media and Cell Phone Awareness
The Lake Orion Community Schools Parent University Series continues with the second session in the social media and cell phone awareness series on Monday, December 9, 2024 in the KIVA room at Lake Orion High School (495 E. Scripps Rd.) for families of students at all levels.

Staff Recognition - Distinguished Dragon
Throughout the school year, if you would like to recognize a staff member from Webber, we encourage you to submit a Distinguished Dragon nomination. The intent of the Distinguished Dragon program is to ensure that staff members who go above and beyond their regular duties are appreciated. The additional effort or support can range from helping an individual to helping a group or any effort that seems worthy of praise.
The staff member can be nominated by a student, parent, community member or a colleague by completing the form at LakeOrionSchools.org/DistinguishedDragon. We ask for the submitter's name and contact information to follow up with specific questions if necessary. Please make sure to select the appropriate school/department form so the message is routed in the proper direction.
Please complete the form entirely so the individual can be appropriately honored for their contributions.
