It’s a great day to be a PANTHER!

Dear Parents,

THIS WEEK is Staff Appreciation week! Every day this week, we have special treats and events planned to honor our wonderful staff. PTA is seeking volunteers to help make this a successful week. Please contact the president at president@theridgepta.org, or the secretary at;

secretary@theridgepta.org for more information.

Beginning this week, scholars in grades 3-5 will begin testing FAST. During this time, scholar laptops and devices will not be sent home. We request families to schedule appointments with testing dates in mind so that it does not impact on time arrival and early releases.

As a reminder, parents may come and eat lunch with their child during their lunchtime, any day during the week.

Kona Ice will be at the YMCA Parking lot afterschool on Tuesday, May 6th from 2:30-3:15pm.

Looking for some family fun? The Tampa Bay Rowdies are offering tickets to Pinellas County Schools for the game between the Rowdies and Rhode Island, on May 17th. Tickets are available until the date of the game, May 17. They will be celebrating the Hillsborough and Pinellas County Teacher of the Year finalists at this event and part of the proceeds go back to the Pinellas County Education Center!

Join Pinellas County Schools for a Science and Engineering Showcase being held May 10, 2025 at the St. Petersburg College, Clearwater Campus, from 10:00am until 2:00pm

You can assist your child prepare for testing by doing the following:

1. Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep before a test, and make sure your child eats properly the day of a test.

2. School hours 8:45am to 2:55pm. On time arrival is imperative.

3. If your child is too ill to attend, please call the school office so that a make-up session can be scheduled.

4. Remind your child to listen carefully to the instructions from the teacher and to read the directions and each question carefully.

5. Explain to your child the importance of using time wisely. If your child gets stuck on a question, encourage him or her to make the best guess and move on.

6. Tell your child to attempt to answer all of the questions and not to leave any blank.

7. Encourage your child to stay focused on the test, even if other students finish early.

8. Most importantly, TRY THEIR BEST! Show what they know.

Congratulations to the “Four Minions” for their outstanding performance at the semifinals of the Battle of the Books!! Though they did not make it to the finals, the boys made it to second place! It’s that time of year again! There are over 100 missing or overdue library books! Notices were sent home a few weeks ago. And a few have found their way home. We need your assistance in locating overdue books and bringing them back to school. Silly as it sounds, look under couches, beds and in the trunk, you never know where you might find a book! They are sneaky! Remember that overdue/missing books follow you throughout your school career! You cannot graduate from high school until the book is returned or paid for.
