Harvesting Success This School Year

As we welcome the fall season, we’re already seeing the tremendous growth and learning that comes from the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. It’s amazing to think we’ve completed a full month of school, and the progress happening in our classrooms and hallways is proof that we’re truly harvesting success this year. Our students have embraced the changes brought by our new cell phone policy, showing responsibility and focus in their learning. Meanwhile, our newest students—the kindergarteners—are excelling as they embark on this exciting new chapter in their lives. We’re excited to continue fostering this growth, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the school year brings in terms of achievement and success. The months ahead hold even more opportunities for learning, collaboration, and celebration!

Remembering September 11th

This month, our students and teachers gathered at the 9/11 Michael Horrocks Memorial to pay tribute to the heroes and victims of September 11th. With a moment of silence and a performance of Taps and The Star-Spangled Banner by one of our students, we reflected on the significance of this day in history. We will always remember.

HHS Homecoming Court

Congratulations to these Hershey High School seniors for being selected by their peers for the homecoming court. Joyce Tao was crowned Homecoming Queen at our Homecoming Football Game, and James Campbell was crowned Homecoming King.

Address Change Information for Parents

If you have recently moved and need to update your address for transportation services, please follow the steps below to ensure your child(ren) can continue receiving transportation.

Steps to Update Your Address:

Email the Registrar: Please send an email to registrar@hershey.k12.pa.us with the following information:

Your new proof of residency (one of the following is required):

Deed
Lease
Current utility bill
Current credit card bill
Current tax bill
Car registration

Your child(ren)'s names and grades
The date you would like transportation to start at the new address

Important Information:

Please note that if the proof of residency provided is not one of the listed items, it will be rejected, which will delay the processing of your address change.
Transportation requests typically take 48 hours to process. However, this time frame may vary depending on circumstances, so we recommend submitting your request as early as possible.

Elementary School Building Project Update 🏫

What's Happening?

On September 30th, Derry Township School District and Crabtree, Rohrbaugh, and Associates hosted a community night at Hershey Elementary School. The event provided an opportunity for community members to review the options presented to the School Board for the project and to ask questions or provide feedback. For those unable to attend, a link to the recording is available below.

On September 23, 2024, Lou Verdelli of Raymond James provided the School Board with an overview of financial planning options for the Elementary School Project. Watch the presentation on our website to learn more.

What's Next?

In October, one of the options will be presented to the board for approval based on the feedback we received from the community, staff, and school board and its alignment with the district's educational vision for the project. Once an option has been selected and approved, the project will move into the schematic design phase, which continues the architectural design process with a focus on spatial elements, physical requirements, and educational programming.
