The Trekker Times
November 18, 2024
Dear Bishop Baraga Trekkers,
Happy Monday! This week we are participating in the TV6 Canathon. Each day we are counting the number of cans each class brings to school. The class with the highest average of cans will win a dress down day the next day. Our first grade class brought in the most cans today. They may dress down tomorrow. Congratulations, and thank you for your generosity!
Parents, I would also like to take a moment to encourage you. At our school, we understand and deeply respect your role as the primary educators of your children. Please know that we are here to support you every step of the way. When you hear from a teacher about moments when your child has made the wrong choice, don’t be discouraged! It is completely normal—and expected—for children to make mistakes. They are in the process of learning how to navigate relationships, manage emotions, practice self-control, and grow in virtue. These are lifelong lessons, and it takes time, patience, and effort on all our parts. Our teachers are committed to walking with your children and helping them to grow into the virtuous individuals God is calling them to be.
Be assured of my prayers this week and always.
God bless,
Angela Oller

Safer Routes to School Parent Survey
Bishop Baraga Catholic School is participating in the "Safe Routes to School" program. We are working with Iron Mountain Public School on a competitive grant application that would allow us to make it easier and safer for students to bike and walk to school. We have a 5-10 minute survey we are asking families to complete to help with this grant. Each family completes only one survey per school your student(s) attend.
Your feedback is important. However, your participation is completely voluntary. You may refuse to answer any question(s). By participating, you indicate your consent to participate in the survey. There are no known risks associated with your participation and it may contribute to a better understanding of issues concerning motorized and nonmotorized transportation to schools. Your student will also fill out a survey at school. You can request a copy of this for review. If you have concerns about this, please contact the office.
Your responses will be kept confidential and neither your name nor your student's name will be associated with any results.
Thank you for participating in this survey.
