6th Grade Whippur of the Week: Iverson Iannuzzi!

Iverson has a strong work ethic and is helpful to her peers. She goes above and beyond when following her PAWS!

6th Grade Whippur of the Week: Nathaniel Blachuciak!

Nathaniel is always on top of his work and asks questions when he has them. He has a positive attitude and is always participating!

7th Whippur of the Week: Callen Diehl!

Callen is a respectful and hardworking student. He comes to class prepared and has a positive attitude. He always contributes to a productive classroom environment!

8th Grade Whippur of the Week: Brennan Petschow!

Brennan comes to class everyday prepared and ready to learn. He is doing a great job advocating for himself and is always polite!

8th Grade Whippur of the Week: Brooklyn King!

Brooklyn is very kind and respectful to her teachers and peers. She does a great job of representing HMS!

We had a great Bingo Night with our AVID Families last night!

AVID Updates

Last night our AVID program hosted a 90's Music and Disney Bingo Night with some of our families. Our students demonstrated their leadership and organizational skills when developing the music and activities! Our students also had the opportunity to tour Judson University to learn more about the opportunities offered. We're looking forward to seeing more exciting projects in the future!

School Safety Update

We want to thank all parents and students who reached out to ensure that our building was safe. Our district is dedicated to making our buildings safe for all students and staff and will continue to address any actions that may interfere with that committment. Please take some time this weekend to remind your students about the impact of social media and the potential impacts of threatening or unsafe posts online.

NIU STEM Fest!

Looking for something free and fun to do with your child that involves STEM based learning? NIU is hosting STEM Fest 2024 on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

My Voice in America's Democracy Student Essay Contest!

All HMS students will have the opportunity to submit a student essay to the VFW for a chance to win an award! Students can reach out to their Social Studies teacher for more information about the essay and its subject "My Voice in America's Democracy". Students who submit an essay will receive an HMS Lanyard and a chance to win an HMS Prize Bag and an opportunity to read their essay at our Veterans Day Assembly. You can find more information here!

HMS Veterans Day Event!

We are excited to announce that Hampshire Middle School will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Celebration on Monday, November 11th! If you or a member of your family is a veteran that is interested in joining us, please fill out this RSVP Form so we can plan to celebrate you here at HMS. To honor all veterans connected to HMS, we have our students create an "Honor Your Veteran at HMS" activity. If you'd like to complete the display with your student, we've attached a digital copy that your student can turn into their Social Studies teacher. The deadline to turn these in will be Friday, November 1st!

Westside Strings Festival

The Westside Strings Festival featuring our 8th Grade Orchestra will be at Hampshire High School on Wednesday, September 25th from 7:00pm until 8:00pm. We're looking forward to enjoying an amazing concert and we appreciate the dedication of our musicians and their families!

Bike & Scooter Expectations

If your student rides a bike or scooter to school, please speak to them about safety expectations on campus. Students should walk their bike/scooter until they have completely exited our school's property to ensure safety expectations.
