Pre-School Fire Department Visit
Our Pre-K students had an exciting and educational visit from our local fire department! Students learned about the importance of fire safety, explored the fire truck, and learned about the special tools firefighters use during emergencies.
This hands-on experience taught our young learners valuable lessons about staying safe and what to do in case of a fire. It was a memorable day that not only sparked curiosity but also reinforced the importance of safety in a fun and engaging way.
We are so grateful to our local heroes for taking the time to visit and making fire safety an exciting adventure for our students!
Halloween Information
Halloween is around the corner, and classrooms will be celebrating!
Here’s what you need to know about this year’s plans for Thursday, October 31:
TREATS: Due to allergy concerns and healthy eating guidelines, students will not be allowed to pass out anything edible this year, including pre-packaged, store-bought treats. Click here for a list of suggestions for non-food treats to pass out.
COSTUMES: Students are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to school. Remember, though, that face paint, fake blood and look-alike weapons are prohibited. Halloween masks should not be worn throughout the regular school day -- only during costume parades.
PARADES: We will have an outdoor costume parade in the afternoon, and families are invited to gather outside to watch the parade. Details such as our the start time and parade route will be shared the week of October 28. Should it rain, the parade will be cancelled.
PARTIES: Following the parade, students will head back inside for their classroom parties. Parents will not be allowed to enter the buildings during these parties, and, again, no edible treats will be passed out.
ALTERNATE ACTIVITIES: Parents who do not want their child to participate in Halloween celebrations should send a note to their child’s teacher as soon as possible. Students not celebrating will be in the library, engaged in non-Halloween related activities.

Every Day of Attendance Counts!
Tioga takes your child's attendance seriously because it directly impacts their learning.
Our motto at Tioga is to be on time and ready to learn each day. Being on time means that a student is at school before the 8:40 tardy bell. Students that arrive after the 8:40 tardy bell are required to be signed in by their parent/guardian.
Please click on the attachment to learn more about how attendance can impact your child.
PTA News and Notes
Thank You!
Join PTA
PTA offers all parents and caregivers the opportunity to be engaged in their child’s potential. PTA membership and dues support your child by funding assemblies (to happen this year) and building an inclusive school community for all families. Join PTA for your child because increasing our membership, even by one, makes it possible to provide important educational resources. PTA dues also support the teachers to build a thriving and inclusive community for everyone. The only thing “required” as a PTA member is to pay the annual dues. Beyond that, however you choose to PTA is up to you. The level of involvement is up to you.
Bus Lane and Staff Parking Lot Reminders
As a reminder, Tioga's bus lane (front drive off Memorial) and staff parking lot (off Mason) are closed to parent pick-up and drop-off during arrival and dismissal. This is especially important as we have seen a number of families attempt to utilize the bus lane to pick up their children. Not following Tioga's safety procedures creates a less safe environment for pedestrian traffic and slows down the arrival/dismissal process for all families.
Please contact Tioga's main office with any questions.
