A Message from Principal Woofter
This is a wrap for the month of October! Thank you for the amazing turnout we had for Parent Conferences last week! I know this was a fantastic opportunity for parents and teachers to connect on the learning that has taken place so far this year. Our AG students are doing an incredible job engaging in the lessons and activities the teachers are planning which are allowing them to soar to new heights!
This week, to celebrate the Diwali holiday, our Nutrition Services sponsored a tasting event for students during their lunch. Our students had the opportunity to taste a Mango Chicken Curry dish along with their regular meal. It was impressive to see how many students decided to give it a try!
Remember that there is no school for students tomorrow. Our teaching staff will kickoff November focusing on professional development and digging into our curriculum resources to plan for Trimester 2.
Don't forget that Daylight Savings will be ending this weekend, so make sure to turn those clocks back and enjoy the extra hour of sleep. With the rainy days and gloomy afternoons here for the next few months, please help us to remind students that they need to walk their scooters and bicycles to the bike racks as soon as they arrive on school property. The rain, umbrellas, and extra cars can make it difficult for drivers to see riders and vice versa so we want to ensure everyone is safe while arriving and leaving campus.
We will also have our Candy Buy Back Week happening all next week. Feel free to bring in any unwanted candy throughout the week to add to our overall school total.
Enjoy your weekend!
Kindly,
Sarah
Thank you for making our Book Fair a huge success!
If you didn't get a chance to shop our Book Fair in-person, there is still time to shop our Book Fair on-line through November 6th! All book purchases over $25 ship free and every purchase benefits our school.
Nutrition Services Highlights Diwali
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, begins on Thursday, October 31st. This week, Nutrition Services partnered with the local, family-owned business Happy Curry Foods to create a delicious Mango Curry Chicken for our students to sample. Our students enjoyed the opportunity to try something new while also learning about Diwali from their friends who celebrate it.

Volunteers
The District will be welcoming volunteers back into our school buildings this year. All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering (this must be renewed each school year). The background check process can take 7-10 business days, so please allow sufficient processing time if you are planning to volunteer for a specific event.
HelpCounter Volunteer Information
Our Archer Glen Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is creating an updated email list for school information and other ways to support our school. If you are looking to volunteer at Archer Glen this year, please sign up using the link shared here. If you are new to Archer Glen you will need to create a new login. Past volunteers can use their old sign in. (Please note that this link does not work well on your phone so you will need to use another device).
ALL parents will need to fill out their information again as the system gets updated each fall. The registration will ask some questions about volunteer preferences, please still answer the questions and select all activities you might be interested in learning more about!
You can find out more information about how to sign up for volunteer opportunities at Archer Glen using HelpCounter by visiting Archer Glen PAC's Instagram handle here.
