May-Final Edition
Nespeca's Notes
I feel truly blessed to be part of the Swenke family and to serve such an incredible community of students, staff, and families. As my first year as your principal comes to an end, I am filled with gratitude for the support, kindness, and partnership that have made this year so special. While it’s bittersweet to close out my first year, I am genuinely excited for the many wonderful memories and milestones we will share together in the years ahead. Thank you for making Swenke not just a school, but a home for all!
Wishing you all a safe, fun, and relaxing summer! Take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy special moments with family and friends. Thank you for an amazing year—I can’t wait to see you back, refreshed and ready for another great year ahead!
Great Things to Come!
I wanted to let you know that our Jump Rope and Jog-A-Thon events will be combined into one exciting event this year, scheduled for October 9th.
While we will still make a small donation to Jump Rope for Heart, all funds raised during this October event will go directly to benefit Swenke Elementary students. These funds will help support field trips, holiday celebrations, garden days, end-of-year parties, and so much more.
Thank you in advance for your support!
May 26-Student/Staff Holiday
End of the Year Party
Our End-of-Year parties will be held on Wednesday, May 28th, not on the last day of school. We planned it this way to give our students and teachers a calm, quiet final day to wrap up the year and spend quality time together. The cafeteria will be serving a grab-and-go lunch on this day, which will include the following items: Yogurt or wowbutter box, Carrots, Apple slices, White or chocolate milk.
If you would like to attend your child’s party, you must be signed up as a volunteer. Please click the link below to register as a volunteer.
Clap-Out
On May 29 at 12:00 p.m., senior students who once attended Swenke will return to walk the halls and be recognized for their incredible accomplishment of graduating from high school. Our 5th graders will also participate in the clap-out, walking behind the seniors to celebrate their own achievements and enjoy one final walk through the hallways as a Swenke Snow Leopard.
Parents are more than welcome to join in this joyous event! However, we kindly ask that parents line the front sidewalk and continue around the entire building (not just at the front doors). The walk will circle the entire building—both inside and outside—so there will be plenty of great spots to stand and cheer.
To ensure the event runs smoothly:
-
No students will be checked out (unless it’s an emergency) between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
-
Student check-outs between 12:45 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. will only be permitted for those with a prior note.
Thank you for your understanding and please plan accordingly!
Last day of School!
News from the Nurse
As we are nearing the end of the school year, please remember that all medications will need to be picked up from the clinic by a parent/guardian by Thursday May 29th at 12:00pm. Any medication not picked up by this time will be disposed of according to CFISD policy. Thank you for your help!
Assistant Principal-Staffing Update
Hopefully, many of you saw my recent announcement about one of our new assistant principals, Kerry Iselt. Please take a moment to check out the flyer to learn more about Kerry, her family, and the experience she brings to our campus.
