Dr. Parlar, Principal
Hello Slate Ridge Families,
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our Ice Cream Social and Curriculum Night on Thursday! It was an amazing evening, and I hope you found the information about our curriculum and academic structure helpful. It was also a great chance to meet our staff and connect with fellow parents.
Picture Day is Coming Up!
Mark your calendars for Picture Day on Wednesday, September 4th. For more pictures and updates, be sure to follow us on Facebook, and visit our website for the latest information about events and our students’ experiences at Slate Ridge.
Student Ambassadors!
I’m excited to share that our teachers have nominated this year's student ambassadors. Just like last year, I will be working closely with these amazing students, and I’m looking forward to their contributions and showcasing the Slate Ridge spirit.
Arrival and Dismissal Reminder!
Thank you for your patience as we continue to train our students on arrival and dismissal procedures. Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your support in following the rules. This helps us model responsibility and sets a great example for our students.
Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
Warmly,
Dr.Parlar, Principal

Parents,
Our SRES school year is well underway!
Students are doing such a wonderful job meeting our RISE expectations (Respect. Integrity. Self-Control. Engagement). Please feel free to incorporate these expectations at home as well to support your child. If you have not already, be sure to sign up for Class Dojo with your child’s teacher in order to see what great things our child is doing each and every day.
Please be aware that our school doors open at 9:10 (your child is tardy at 9:20) and our dismissal process begins at 3:45-3:50. Teachers leave at 4:00. Please be sure to pick up your child by 4:00 if your child is a car rider. We appreciate your assistance as well as your patience as we continue to make dismissal more efficient.
We appreciate your continued support and teamwork as we work with your child to make it an amazing 24-25 school year.
Thank you!

24-25 Student Ambassadors!
SRES Student Ambassadors are students in 3rd-5th grade who show that they consistently model behavior that makes a positive impact on their school community and classrooms. They focus on the, "We R.I.S.E." matrix, to help encourage other students to be responsible, model integrity, self-control and be engaged. They meet throughout the year with Principal, Dr. Parlar, to brainstorm ways to serve the school community.
"Together We R.I.S.E."
Ice Cream Social and Curriculum Night was a great success!

Arrival Time to Slate Ridge!
AM Arrival 9:10-9:20am - Enter from Taylor Rd., pull through the car rider loop, and drop students along the sidewalk in the pickup/drop zone. Exit through the neighborhood. Students will enter the building through the back gym entrance. Students arriving after 9:20am will be marked tardy and must be signed in by a parent/guardian at the front office.
IMPORTANT: Drop off/Pick Up
- Your child should exit the car from the passenger side, closest to the school. They should exit when you have moved up as far as possible to allow for 6-7 cars to drop at a time. Your student should be ready to exit the car when you get to that farthest spot possible.
- Please pull all the way up to the farthest point to drop off. If you are the lead car, this should be to the end of the sidewalk along the building. This allows 6-7 cars to drop off in the actual loop.
- Please do not pass any cars that are stopped in the lane. This is extremely unsafe and can put our students in danger. Please refer back to the first bullet point in this email as well in making sure your students are ready to exit the car so as not to hold up the line.
- Please be patient. We all want to provide the safest situation that we can.
- To ensure our students get to school safely, we have collaborated with the City of Reynoldsburg and the Reynoldsburg Police Department and have identified some traffic issues you may encounter during arrival and dismissal. Please note that the RPD might issue a citation if there are any violations. Parents speeding through the neighborhood (to the west of the building) to come in the back lot to drop kids off.
- Please be patient while we are training our students to get used to our arrival and dismissal procedure in the first couple of weeks. We appreciate your cooparetaion.
- We know that everyone wants to get their children to school safely and on time. Thank you for being a partner as we ensure a smooth drop-off and pick-up process.
