Principal's Weekly Update
Good afternoon Families,
I hope this message finds you well! We have plenty to celebrate this week as our students continue to shine in athletics and academics.
First, congratulations to both the Girls’ Basketball and Girls’ Hockey teams for advancing to the next round of the playoffs! Their hard work and determination are paying off, and we are excited to see them continue their postseason journey. Best of luck in the next round!
A special shoutout to our Boys’ Wrestling team for a fantastic meet last weekend. And a big good luck to Tanner Kamuda, who will be competing in the New England Finals in Providence, Rhode Island, this weekend. We are all cheering you on, Tanner!
Our Robotics Team also had an incredible weekend, bringing home first place in their most recent competition! Stay tuned for more details about their next event—we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.
A quick reminder that Friday, March 14th, is an early release day to allow time for spring conferences. We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with teachers and discuss student progress.
Note about MCAS - with testing season almost upon us, I wanted to be sure that families knew that although the test is not a requirement for graduation, Pentucket Regional Middle-High School still considers this a high-stakes test and will use the data to help us provide the best instruction for our students. We will be treating the testing days the same as we always have and ask for your support in doing the same by encouraging you to refrain from taking vacations on test dates, asking your children to eat a good breakfast, and reminding them to charge their devices prior to coming to school. All of these things will help us ensure all students are able to perform at their best.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our students and school community. Have a great week, and best of luck to all our teams and competitors! Don't forget to turn those clocks back and enjoy one less hour of sleep - let the light shine :)
Best,
Brenda Erhardt
Principal, Pentucket Middle-High School

Reminder: Student Expectations at Sporting Events
With the playoff season upon us, we are asking for some help when students are attending a sporting event - whether it's a home game or away, students need to be respectful, good sports, and remain in the area the sport is taking place. We have received reports that students are wandering through buildings unattended. Please review this with your student prior to attending any event. Pentucket students have expectations that they should adhere to. We appreciate your help and support.
PLEASE be on time!
Students are expected to be at school by 7:35 each morning. We know and understand the traffic can be an issue, but is is not feasible for the school to have a rolling start time. We REALLY appreciate your cooperation and support with this.
As a friendly reminder 5 tardies = 1 detention

Tuesday 3/25 for Dangers of Vaping: What Parents Need to Know!
This year, vaping, tobacco and nicotine use among youth and young adults are still major concerns. Every day, more and more discreet vapes enter the market. They are meant to sneak past adults by camouflaging as common household objects, video games, toys, and school supplies.
Behind the enticing flavors and flashy colors of e-cigarettes are harmful chemicals and nicotine addiction. Now is the time to remain vigilant and learn the essentials to help kids avoid or quit vaping! Our virtual presentation Dangers of Vaping: What Parents Need to Know will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 6:00pm Eastern Time. At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Understand and recognize tobacco industry tactics targeting youth
- Explain the dangers of nicotine e-cigarettes/vapes, non-nicotine vapes, and other new tobacco products
- Know the steps to protect youth and how to advise others to get involved
- Know how to take action in your own communities
Make sure to register for this FREE event held on March 25th. It is open to all, including parents, people who work with youth, and others. The recording will be available to all registrants after the webinar. If you are looking to help fight this cause, please click here to donate.

Sisters Helping Women in Need
Sisters Helping Women in Need is a community service project run by Kate Conover, a high school student at Pentucket. This is the fourth year this project has gone into action. In the years prior, over 200 women’s products were donated by students all around the Merrimack Valley. Women’s undergarments and hygiene products were presented to The Psychological Center, which helps women of all ages that are suffering from addiction and has 3 different spots where women need these donations. The Pegasus House houses 25 women under the age of 25, Women’s View houses 25 women over the age of 25, and DayBreak houses 25 homeless women. In March, the donations collected by the Sisters Helping Women in Need project will be delivered to these locations to make a difference in these women’s lives.
Pentucket High School and Middle School students are eligible to donate and receive community service hours for doing so. 1 item donated = 1 hour of community service. Hours are capped at 5 hours, but extra donations are appreciated. Donations include women’s undergarments and personal hygiene products. Students can drop off donations at the G.A.R. Memorial Library located in West Newbury. Students will be in charge of tracking their own hours this year using the Track It Forward app.
Click here to register for donations. Please contact ckatie363@gmail.com with any questions!
