Students are expected to arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of the sectional in order to get set up and warm up properly. After school sectionals- plan appropriately if coming from home for after-school traffic; in person students come to the band hall right after 7th period.

UPDATED INFORMATION - IRELAND TRIP/ ST. PATRICK'S FESTIVAL
In June of 2019 THAT WYLIE BAND was selected and invited by the St. Patrick's Festival adjudication committee to participate in the 2021 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. COVID-19 prevented the parade in 2020 and 2021, and our invitation has been moved to 2022. Below is updated information.
- Date: March 12-18, 2022
- Current 8-11 graders are eligible to participate
- Cost is the same as it was last year
- $250 discount if you join before February 26, 2021
- Cost: $3,099 (includes applied discount). Click the TENTATIVE ITINERARY button below to see what is included in the cost.
- For those currently paying on the trip, payments were suspended in August and will resume in November or December (depending on the date you had set up)

OTHER THINGS
- Charge your Chromebook and devices (phone or tablet) daily. You will use them a lot more this year.
- Organize your GOOGLE CLASSROOMS
- You can eat lunch down by the band hall just like normal. FRESHMEN...don't eat in the cafeteria, lots of us hang out and eat on either hallway of the band hall.
- READ EMAILS - This is how your teachers are communicating.
- CHECK YOUR GOOGLE CLASSROOM - Your assignments will be there.
- BE ORGANIZED and have a plan for your success. It is YOUR education and it is up to YOU to advocate for yourself as you get older.
- Know that WE LOVE YOU and are looking forward to an amazing Spring Semester!
IN PERSON NORMS FOR BAND
- Wear a mask.
- Put personal items in your locker or on the shelves provided
- Have your instrument
- Have your band binder
- Have your instrument case with you in rehearsal
- Have both apps used by TWB: BAND APP / GOOGLE CLASSROOM
- The instrument storage room must remain clear; however, you can hang out in the band hall & ensemble room before school.
- Practice rooms will be used for lessons. There is a procedure for using practice rooms. Make sure your phone or device can scan a QR code.
ONLINE NORMS FOR BAND
- Have a music stand (we can check out one for you).
- Have your instrument.
- Have a stationary chair that does not rock or swivel.
- Test your microphone for functionality.
- You will use the Google Meet for your class. This is located in your GOOGLE CLASSROOM at the top left of the screen.
- You will be on camera with all necessary items at the time class begins.
- You will participate fully in class, to include playing and answering questions.
- The expectation of rehearsal etiquette is the same for IN PERSON and ONLINE students.
