ACT FOR JUNIORS IS MARCH 11 (grades 9,10,12 virtual learning day)
Please help ensure your student is present for test day! Buses will run at normal times. Upon completion of testing, 11th grade students are able to leave campus; however, students wishing to stay until the end of the day are able to do so. Lunch will be available for students who wish to stay on campus). Testing for standard time testers is estimated to conclude by 12:30pm.
- Students have been registered for the exam and can find many prep resources on the Assessments section of the Student Services/Counseling Website. Students should also review the Preparing for the ACT Test guide
- On March 3, juniors created their My ACT account in W.I.N. (Creating your My ACT account), they also reviewed how to Log into Test Nav)
- All Juniors will participate in a presentation during W.I.N on Monday, March 10th that will go over test day details.
- Students will check in at 7:35am, standard time testers will all test in the gym. Students with accommodations have been notified of their testing location.
- Students should bring the following items:
- FULLY CHARGED CHROMEBOOK and charger
- Calculator (there is also one built into the exam)
- Pencil
**Students not present for the initial test day will be scheduled for the make-up day on March 25. Students will miss class time for the exam.
INFORMATION ON ASSESSMENTS- GRADES 9, 10
PRE-ACT Secure 9/10- APRIL 15th
- The statewide PreACT Secure 9/10 assessment will take place on April 15, 2025. Additional information can be found on the WI DPI website. Students should review the How To Log Into Test Nav presentation and use the app on their chromebook to review the testing tools and take practice tests. The Preparing for the PreACT Secure 9/10 guide shares information for students to review, including test taking tips, practice items, and additional details.
FORWARD grade 10 only- APRIL 10th
- Students in Grade 10 be taking the Social Studies tests (two subtests) on April 10, 2025. These are the only two subtests required for 10th grade students.

Hmong Translation - The WI Department of Public Instruction website shares additional information including practice items for students.
- Students use the DRC Insight app on their chromebook for the exam. *Reminder- students must be fully logged off their device to access the app for testing

Please review the 10th grade Informational Presentation to find all information that was shared and contact information for your student’s school counselor.
CLASS OF 2026- DIRECT ADMIT INFORMATION
The River Falls School District is participating in year two of the state program called Direct Admit Wisconsin. Direct Admit Wisconsin is designed to provide a place for all Wisconsin high school students to access a world-class public education by proactively offering them admission to the Universities of Wisconsin.
Following a review of your student’s 11th grade transcript (grade point average, math coursework, progression towards graduation), you and your student will receive correspondence in July indicating which UWs are providing them direct admission, and the next steps needed in order to learn more about enrolling within the Universities of Wisconsin. Participating in this program does not commit your student to attend the Universities of Wisconsin.
To facilitate the administration of this program, the following information will be shared by the school with the Universities of Wisconsin: Name, WISEid, Local Student District ID, contact information, legal sex, race/ethnicity, GPA and high school transcripts.

CLASS OF 2025- IMPORTANT UPDATE ON LAUDE PROCEDURE
Attention Seniors & Families:
We want to ensure all seniors and their families are aware of the updated Laude recognition procedure. Please take a moment to review the Laude Information for Seniors
Early College Credit Program and Start College Now Application Status
Students who submitted ECCP or SCN applications by the March 1 deadline should receive notice of their application status by April 15, 2025. Be sure to review and complete all steps required by the institution you applied to and for RFHS.
**For students applying to UW-River Falls through ECCP, the application must be completed and the application for fall 2025 opens on March 15th.
ACADEMIC and CAREER PLANNING
- All students had the opportunity to participate in ACP BINGO. This was a fun, unique way to share daily "quick minute" videos that highlighted various aspects of Academic Career Planning. Students and staff participated in making the videos that were delivered daily in W.I.N.
- Grades 9,10, 11 completed their second Point of Pride for their ACP Portfolio and 11th graders also completed their 2nd Project Reflection.
- Ask your student to share their portfolio!
- If you are concerned about your student's progress with their ACP Portfolio, reach out to their W.I.N teacher
What's Next:
- Students in grade 9,10 will prepare for upcoming assessments
