Beacon Tree Families...
With the last marking period of the school year upon us, it is important for students and their families to stay focused on learning. Feel free, as always, to check PowerSchool, to call or email your child’s teacher with questions/concerns about your child’s progress. One thing sure to be on everyone’s minds is the placement of students into next year’s classrooms. As we enter the final marking period, the teachers and I begin to plan for the following school year’s class assignments.
The classroom teachers, learning center teachers, and I will collaborate to place your child in the most cohesive classroom. They know their students, and together we will design a stable classroom. As students are placed together into classroom groups, we look at many factors such as general academics, reading abilities, sociability, and disciplinary situations to create a well-balanced classroom. Once classroom groups are designed, that is when a teacher is assigned to that group of students. If you have specific thoughts on their learning environment it is best to have that conversation with your child's teacher. They know your student the best, they work with them day in and day out and have the bigger picture of your child's learning needs.
Classroom placement is an extremely long and arduous process each year that is well thought out by your child’s current teacher and other staff. I am confident that the team will place all children in an environment where they can be the most successful. Therefore, I am asking that you please refrain from making teacher requests as well as the requesting of other students to be placed with your child. Taking the laborious process into consideration and valuing my staff’s professional recommendations, I am not able to honor specific teacher requests, as it is extremely difficult to keep the balance needed throughout each grade level. Thank you in advance for your support and trust in this area.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. Lenz

April Monthly Focus: Courage
🎯 Family Challenge: “Courage in Action” Jar
Create a Courage Jar at home! Every family member can write down something courageous they did during the week and add it to the jar. It could be standing up for a friend, trying something new, or speaking up when something felt wrong. At the end of the week, read them aloud together and celebrate your family’s brave moments!
🗣️ Dinner Table Talk: Ask your child:
-
“What’s something you’ve done lately that took courage?”
-
“Is there something you're nervous about, but want to try anyway?”
-
“How can we support each other in being brave?”

Community Offerings
Eisenhower High School's Leadership Programs are planning a fundraiser for Saturday, May 31 to fund our Leadership initiatives at IKE and our Junior Eagle program that serves our feeder elementary schools.
IKE Market will be from 8 AM - 1 PM on Saturday, May 31. It will function like a mass garage sale for the community in the Eisenhower Parking lot.
To reserve a spot... Visit: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=aOI-uaQawUGz37nrhmVnJVHh9g-gQeBIr5xRy2u6QTdUQjE2SUtLNEVVWEtCMDlGUkxRTFVRNFNHSy4u
2 spots (1 for your car and one for your market "store front" is $45.00). All of the shopping will happen in the main lot of Eisenhower. We have food trucks who have signed on to provide some food for customers to stroll and shop with. Anyone is welcome. We are looking for vendors of Mom to Mom Items, traditional garage sale wares, and we are even hoping to have some small private businesses join us. A furniture "flipper" would be a great idea to add to the event.
Guests coming to shop will be charge $2 per car to park and visit all of our vendors.
At the end of the sale, a Vietnam Veterans Donation truck will be on site to take away any items that you would like to donate rather than taking them back to your home.
We will have assistants on hand to help you set up, carry boxes, even watch your booth while you do a little shopping of your own! This should be a great community event!
All of the money raised will go to supporting out Leadership Theories and Concepts Curriculum. This class works to build and promote events that create a welcoming, supportive and fun climate at Eisenhower High School. It also will support our presence in our feeder elementary schools as a part of our Junior Eagle program!
