Goochland Reads 2025 Is Underway!

Last week we began reading our 2025 Goochland Reads book, A Boy Called Bat. All students, faculty, and staff received a copy of the book. Follow the reading calendar (linked here)! Students will answer trivia each day at school. We hope you enjoy reading!

BES Will Celebrate the 100th Day of School on Friday

Display a picture of your pet at school!

We are creating a display of pets at school, and hoping to get 100 for our 100th day! Please turn in the form if you would like to add your pet to the board.

Goochland Restaurant Reading Incentive Program

The Goochland Restaurant feels passionate about encouraging reading throughout our community! They are sponsoring a reading incentive program that is similar to the BOOK-IT Program many adults loved once-upon-a-time! Goochland students will receive a bookmark to track their reading. Once students have read 8 books, then they can turn the completed bookmark into the Goochland Restaurant in exchange for a free drink AND their choice of fries, onion rings, or a cookie! The best part is that students are not limited to just one bookmark! They can complete multiple bookmarks!

Helpful Links & Info

Please notify the office about transportation changes via email at beseagles@glnd.k12.va.us. If you have daily transportation needs, please make sure you provide changes at the beginning of each week for the entire week. Please make sure you have all transportation changes in prior to 1:00 PM, this allows staff time to communicate all necessary changes and avoids confusion when a call is not received. We appreciate your support.

Parents who wish to chaperone a field trip or volunteer regularly in our school must submit to a background check every 2 years using the BIB portal. The process is completely electronic. If you are having problems with the system, contact Demetra Harris at dharris@glnd.k12.va.us.
