Oak Grove Chess Take 2!

We are excited to announce that two more Oak Grove students participated in the 153rd Kumbaya Chess Tournament at Niles North High School on January 26th, 2025. This tournament is an officially recognized tournament by the United States Chess Federation, the governing body of chess in the U. S.

Advit T. played in the rated U1200 section and placed 2nd overall, and Ayansh T. played in the U800 section and tied for 3rd place, earning an honorable mention trophy.

Future Quest

Lake County Tech Campus is excited to announce this year’s Future Quest middle school career exploration days! This is an opportunity for 7th and 8th graders to experience career opportunities. The event will be on either April 8, 9, or 10, depending on availability for the majority of interested students. It will run from 3:45 to 7:00 pm and provide students with pizza, chips, cookies, and water. Bus transportation will be provided for students. There will be a small cost involved to cover transportation and chaperones. If your child is interested in attending, please fill out this form to help us begin the planning process.

Spring Intramurals for 4th & 5th Graders

Oak Grove will host Spring intramurals 03/10-03/13 after school from 3:30-5:30. Sign-up will be open to 4th & 5th grade students on a first come first serve basis. Early Entrance to Kindergarten/First Grade

Applications are now being accepted for families wishing to explore early entrance to kindergarten or 1st grade for their child. More information and the application can be found on our website. The application window closes on March 3, 2025.

CogAT - Grades 3 & 5

Students in grades 3 and 5 will take the CogAT on February 11th. For more information, please see the “Overview of CogAT for Parents” letter.

The Kindergarten and 1st grade social will be held at Ultimate Ninjas in Libertyville on Friday, February 21, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Click here to register your child. Snacks and water will be passed out after the event.
Mark your calendars. The PTO will host a fun run after school on April 25, 2025. Stay tuned for more details!
