What a difference a year makes! Teachers have been practicing procedures and kids have settled in. There's a ton of learning and fun happening in every room!

Parents who wish to attend field trips or work in a capacity where they may be alone with students, for example as a reading tutor, MUST complete a background check. Background checks will take place at Bridge on Monday, August 30, 10:00 - 12:00. If you would like to volunteer for a field trip please plan to come to school on Monday between 10:00 am and noon with a driver's license to get your background check completed.

This is a reminder that we ALL need to work together to keep our families safe! Something VERY concerning is parents parking on Midland Drive (the road in front of the school) heading north and then flipping a U Turn instead of going to, and waiting at the stop sign to turn right. Roy City police have been informed about the matter in order to increase patrols on Midland Drive to ensure the safety of all of our families.

• Traffic only flows one way - please look at the picture.
• Turn right ONLY when leaving the parking lot.
• Be patient - take turns
• Pull ALL THE WAY forward
• Do NOT motion kids to your car. Pick them up from the curb only. Motioning them to your car puts them at risk of injury.

• Remind kiddos to stay alert and look for your car. Nothing slows down the pick up lane more than a car having to wait for kids.

Parents are always invited to volunteer to help in the parking lot.Just show up 15 minutes before school is out, grab a yellow vest and ask the office how you can assist.

If your child has allergies or special dietary needs, we can help accommodate those needs (for example gluten or lactose free) providing we have documentation from the Dr. We cannot accommodate the needs without the properly completed forms. You can find the forms on our website under Policies and Procedures > Medication and Special Diet Forms:

Did you know raspberries were first introduced in Europe nearly 450 years ago? Students learned a little bit about raspberries and peaches this week during our FFVP snack. Students had the opportunity to eat red raspberries, juicy peaches, luscious strawberries and fresh pears. We are super excited about helping our students experience fresh, nutritious fruits and veggies every week. For several kiddos it was their FIRST time even eating a fresh peach!

Let your kiddos know we will have a fire drill on Tuesday. During this drill we will sound the alarm and exit the school. Please let your child's teacher know if the sound of the alarm will be too overwhelming for your child so they can make alternate arrangements such as having the child outside the school BEFORE the alarm is sounded.

Each day your student will participate in rotations that include Imagine Learning (reading and math), small group instruction and stations. Stations are an important part of our model providing students with opportunities to practice what they learned independently and collaboratively with peers.

Students in grades 1 - 6 will have a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) complete with a reading and math goal and action steps to achieve the goals. Twice monthly students will meet with their advisor to discuss goals, progress and next steps. This year the PLP will also have a progress notes page where teachers can notify parents of the student's progress in other areas as well.

The PLP is shared digitally with parents. Once every quarter parents can join a PLP meeting with their student. Your child's advisor is the teacher your child is assigned to in Aspire. Advisory officially begins Friday, September 10 and is held 8:45 - 10:45.

School pictures were taken Wednesday, August 25. Information to buy pictures was sent home with students. You can also use the link below with the code BridgeESFall2021 - the link will expire THREE days after picture day.

Students will also have their picture placed on a name badge to wear during school. Students should NOT bring their name badges home. In January we will send home information to purchase a yearbook. Retake picture day is scheduled for Friday, October 22.

NOTE: During spring pictures students will be able to wear non-dress code clothing.

Although meals are currently free, it is imperative that parents apply for FREE / REDUCED status. This is done through ASPIRE - simply login and complete the application using the link on the right side of the window.

FREE / REDUCED status provides the school with extra funding to help support our Title I at-risk program which includes morning supervision and BASE as well as intervention support for struggling students. This past year it also provided additional assistance for some students in the form of an electronic debit card. It also ensures that if we are no longer able to offer free meals, parents are already qualified for free/reduced status.

ASPIRE Instructions

We are so excited to launch our Lunch for Safety program and offer FREE lunch to uniformed military and first responders. If you are in the military or a first responder and would like to eat lunch with our students, simply call the school before 9:00 am and let us know your menu choice and what time you plan to attend lunch. Check in at the office and grab your FREE LUNCH card. Then, join our kiddos in the lunchroom.

Parents can donate to this program by dropping a check at the office with the notation "Lunch for Safety" or by using the DONATE icon on our website and paying online.

Our student's will participate in weekly instruction of Bridge Elementary's Visible Learning traits. Students who display the traits are rewarded with a “Watch Me Learn” ticket. Tickets can be traded for prizes, dress down coupons and books. Each week a new trait will be featured in our newsletter so you can practice the skills at home with your students.
