We are incredibly thankful for your continued support and partnership in helping our students grow, learn, and thrive. Your dedication and involvement make a lasting impact, and we are truly grateful for all you do.
We wish you and your family a happy, safe, and joyful Thanksgiving filled with love and special moments. May your holiday season be as inspiring and rewarding as the connections we share within our school community.

What's Happening in School?
As we reflect on all the wonderful learning happening in our school, we’re reminded how grateful we are to have such engaged students and dedicated educators. In our building it has always been our goal to foster creativity, curiosity, and growth every day. It's iportant for us to share with you a small glimpse of that creativity occurring in our classrooms.
🎵 Music Class:
Nathan P. (6th Grade) had asked Miss Boese if he could showcase his skills on the piano. I happened to be visiting the classroom as Nathan wowed everyone by playing a beautiful piece of music! I was even more impressed, as was everyone else, when he revealed he taught himself to play by watching YouTube video! This is such an inspiring example of self-directed learning and passion for music. Well done, Nathan!
📚 Mrs. Price’s Kindergarten Class:
Students are making math exciting by counting to 100 with the help of a fun YouTube video that doubles as a movement break! They’ve also been exploring base-10 blocks and using playdoh to reinforce foundational concepts, as well as learning to measure different objects using string! You should see how excited the children are when they get to engage in hands-on learning! Mrs. Price and her students are making great gains in their math fluency and measurement knowledge!
🌟 Mrs. Fels’ Fourth Grade Class:
Mrs. Fels' and her students are diving into the important topic of rights and responsibilities connected to government. Such an ideal time to be learning about government since we just engaged in an election! Mrs. Fels' is connecting student learning to real world application! It’s wonderful to see our students and your children engaged in meaningful conversations that will build their understanding of what it means to be part of a community.
✍️ Mrs. Sieczka’s Third Grade Class:
Mrs. Siezcka took her students into the deep water yesterday as they encountered what it meant create a folder in their Google Drive and add writing documents to it. The children were so excited to learn this new skill and then begged Mrs. Siezcka to create a new piece of writing. Mrs. Sieczka was so moved by their request that she added and new writing prompt to the board and their creative juices began to flow! It was a joy to see the kids tackle a soccer-themed writing prompt! Some of the students even decided to share their writing pieces with me!!! I love seeing how engaged they are in learning to write creatively!
Benchmark Testing through iReady
Next week our classrooms will begin benchmark assessments through iReady. For those of you who are unaware, iReady is an assessment tool used in schools to evaluate students’ academic performance and growth in reading and math. The assessment is designed to provide teachers with actionable insights into each student’s strengths and areas for improvement.
Here is what we can expect from engaging in iReady, which is a tool that functions much like the NWEA MAP testing that we previously took in U-46.
The iReady diagnostic tests adaptive, meaning the questions adjust based on the student’s responses. If a student answers correctly, the questions become more challenging; if they struggle, the questions become easier. The test is meant to identifies the student’s learning level in the area of reading and math. This benchmark assessment will be given twice this school year and will help teachers measure our students growth.
I-Ready can also be used as an intervention tool for math. Students who show a need for improvement may engage in i-Ready through their WIN (What I Need) time in their classrooms. Should this be the case, parents would be notified of the use of the intervention. Using this tool will help teachers to target areas of growth for students and monitor how that gap in learning is closing.
If you have questions about I-Ready testing, please don't hestitate to reach out. Below you will see the schedule for testing. Students who are absent during testing will make up the assessment when they return to school.

Attendance Incentive
It’s time to get “squishy” about attendance! 🐾 On November 4th we began our attedance challenge and we’re excited to reward students who make attendance a priority with our PAW Raffle Attendance Incentive!
Here’s how it works:
- Students who attend school for a full week will earn a PAW raffle ticket each week.
- These tickets will go into a grade-level bin, giving kiddos up to seven chances to win big!
On December 18th, Mr. Krause and Mrs. Dupuis will draw EIGHT lucky winners to take home an adorable Squishmallow!
Let’s make sure your child is present, engaged, and ready to learn at Spring Trail every day. The more they’re here, the more chances they have to win. Who knows? A Squishmallow might be coming home with them!

Your presence and stories of courage inspired our students and reminded us all of the sacrifices made for our freedoms. Thank you for being part of this special day and for your service to our country.
POSITIVE OFFICE REFERRALS
Congratulations to all of these students for being AMAZING TIGERS at Spring Trail. These students were nominated by their teacher because they show on a daily basis what it means to R.O.A.R! Keep making a difference in our school!
SILLY STRING FUN
Congratulations to all the students that won the chance to Silly String Mrs. Dupuis & Mr. Krause. It was messy and sticky but we had so much fun with all of you! Even Mr. Krause and Mrs. Dupuis had a little fund with the silly string! Have fun watching a few videos of the silly string fun!

RECESS HELPERS
During recess, Mr. Krause and the Noon Hour Supervisors spoke with all grade levels on how we need to take care of the equipment and materials at school. When we care for our equipment it means students can continue to enjoy the equipment provided for recess! After this conversation with students, we had a few children who were caught cleaning up the rubber mulch off the ground for the GAGA Pit! Thank you ladies for showing your care of our equipment and facilities! Because of their support and random act of kindness, each student was awarded a gift certificate from Texas Roadhouse!
