Dear VAP Families,
What an incredible week we had celebrating National Reading Week! It was truly inspiring to see our students so engaged and passionate about literature. From creative read-alouds to fun reading challenges, the enthusiasm was contagious, and we loved watching our students discover the magic of books. A huge thank you to our teachers, staff, and families for making this week such a success!
I’d also like to take a moment to congratulate our Blue and White Boys Basketball Teams, both of which wrapped up their seasons last week. Congratulations on a fantastic season! We are so proud of all their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship on and off the court.
As we look ahead, we’re thrilled to be hosting the Spring Education Region 5 Meeting this Monday-Wednesday. We will be welcoming school leaders from our sister schools in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Washington, Oregon, and Encinitas for a time of collaboration and shared learning. It’s an honor to bring together these educators and continue striving for excellence in education.
Next week marks our final week before spring break, and we have some fun events planned! On St. Patrick’s Day, students are welcome to wear green to celebrate the occasion. Be sure to check the information below for details on upcoming activities. Also, if you’re interested in enrolling your child in our Spring Break Camp, don’t forget to register before it’s too late!
As always, thank you for your continued support. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

March's Word of the Month: Perseverance
As we move into March, we introduce our new Word of the Month: Perseverance. Perseverance means pushing through challenges, staying determined, and never giving up—even when things get tough. Whether it’s mastering a new skill, working hard on a project, or facing obstacles with a positive attitude, perseverance helps us grow and achieve our goals.
We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of perseverance and ways to practice it in their daily lives. Let’s work together to inspire resilience and a never-give-up attitude this month!

Shoe Drive End Next Thursday!
Our school is participating in a shoe drive to support a local child, Paxton Purdy, who is in urgent need of a miracle. Paxton, 8 years old, has been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called CLCN6 mutation, which causes autism, epilepsy, and a shortened life expectancy. His parents have started a nonprofit to raise funds for gene therapy research at UMass Medical School in Worcester, and you can help.
Bring in gently used shoes and place them in the bin labeled with your child's house. The house with the most donated shoes can win up to 2,000 extra points! Bins are set up in the gym, and donations will be accepted until Thursday, March 20th. Every pair counts toward funding vital research to help Paxton and other children like him. Let's come together and make an impact!
