Parent Conference Bookings
A reminder that bookings open on Monday (12 June) at 9am for our Term 2 Parent Conferences.
Those of you who have attended these before will be aware that they differ from the format of our Term 1 Conferences, with a longer block of allocated time to allow for meeting with the teacher and also talking in more depth with your child about their progress, with examples of learning in class.
As there can be several students in the room during any given time, this usually isn't an appropriate time to discuss any significant concerns you may have that you may wish to speak with your child's teacher about.
For any potentially more sensitive discussions of this nature, we would not recommend waiting for a scheduled Conference to come around in any event, and instead suggest arranging a mutually convenient time to meet after school if and when any issues may arise.
The main advantage of these conferences is that they offer deeper insight into your child's learning, and also an opportunity for them to share their own experience, perspective and reflections on the progress and achievements they are most proud of, or equally any aspects of their learning they may need more help with.
As usual, the appointment times are set on a first-come-first-served basis, so make sure you book your time early on Monday.
As the teaching team progress the written reports you'll receive a copy of prior to the conference, I'm sure they (and the children!) will have plenty of learning to share and celebrate so far this year!
Breaking Ground
The good news is that work is scheduled to commence in the next few weeks on the top court canopy project. Disruption will be contained to the netball court area during the works, which should be completed early Term 3. We'll be looking forward to letting the children try out this exciting new space relatively soon!
