Ranger Report
03/08/24
Hello Ranger Families,
This week I would like to emphasize my excitement around student-led conferences. Spring conferences are a great time to connect with your child’s teachers, be involved with their education and partner with us to achieve results. Spring conferences are held April 1st and 2nd at the high school and this time the students will take the lead themselves! Using their digital data trackers, students will speak to their strengths, areas of growth and action plan for the remainder of the school year. The spring registration sign-up link is attached below. We hope to see you here to be a part of these exciting presentations!

A Focus on Academics
Please partner with us to ensure that your child is proficient in all essential learning standards. EHS teachers and counselors are working actively to reteach challenging concepts, reach out to families and create action plans for students who have not yet shown proficiency. We can do this!

A Focus on SBAC
Why - SBAC Matters:
We encourage high student participation in this test for multiple reasons. This test provides teachers with the data necessary to look at how our students are doing compared to other districts and allows us to make changes in our programs if needed. We do not receive any money for how our students do on this test, but it holds us accountable to ensure we provide a comparable education to other schools. For more information, see the Family guide linked below.
A Focus on Student Behavior
Each week in the Ranger Report I highlight one aspect of our student management expectations (linked below) with the goal of promoting clarity and communication with our parents in regards to behavior expectations and expected consequences. Our goal is to continuously improve our services to families by using data to drive our decisions. With that, now is a good time to ask “how are we doing?” Our fall parent survey results to the question “I believe school rules are enforced consistently at this school” scored a 3.57 out of a possible score of 5.0. I would like to take this opportunity to ask that question again to compare our scores and to see if we are on the right track. Please click on the link below to participate in this quick one question survey. Thank you for your help.
Clothing Drive
March 4-15 will be a Student Council Clothing Drive.
We'll be getting you boxes or a bin for students to bring nice used clothes in and place them in. Student Council will pick them up each day 5th period and keep track of points similar to how we did for the canned food drive.
A Focus on College
Scholarship Opportunities
2024 Oregon Jaycee Foundation scholarship program. Our foundation will award up to $10,000 in scholarships to several graduating Oregon high school seniors in the Class of 2024. The amount of the scholarship is a one-time grant. The final selection of a recipient will be based on the following criteria: leadership qualities, personal accomplishments and community service.

Classrooms are Cell Phone Free Zones
Life is full of distractions that keep us from performing our best.
Our expectation is that classrooms are cell phone free zones.
The classroom is a space for learning and engagement in preparation for a student’s next step in life. Join us in fostering this commitment to learning by:
Talking with your student about their cell phone use in school.
Be prepared to set limits and to collaborate with school staff in making learning a priority.
