Second semester got off to a rocky start with the unprecendanted four Snow Day closures. LVS is working hard to get new students registered and current students back on track. We look foward to a better start to this week!
New Websites Launched
During winter break, our district launched new websites. They are works in progress! Thank you for your patience as we review, update, test, and tweak 12,169 school and district webpages.
Clear your cache data to access the Go dashboard. Here are those instructions:
- Open Chrome
- Click the three dots in the upper righthand corner
- Select Delete browing data
- Select Cashed images and files
- Click Delete Data
- Close and restart your browser to see the changes

Students have chance to share their own musical talents and listen to others. This could include playing a song on an instrument or singing. We will also learn about some famous musicians and various musical instruments. From time to time, we may have some guest performers!

Elementary Field Trips
KC Symphony Kinderkonzert
Join LVS families to hear the world-renowned KC Symphony in a concert just for students, grades K-3.
When: Wednesday, March 5th, 10 am
Where: Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Kansas City, MO
Who: LVS students in grades K-3rd and family
Cost: $3 per ticket per person
This year's concert theme is "Weather Ahead!":
Join your Kansas City Symphony and KMBC Chief Meteorologist Bryan Busby for a wild and weather-filled performance for students in grades K-3. From an indoor rainstorm to a beautiful rainbow, and a snowstorm to a bright sunny day, make music and science connections in this exciting one-hour performance in Helzberg Hall.

- Complete the registration to reserve your seats no later than January 27th here
- Payments for the tickets must be made no later than Thursday, January 30th. If mailing a check please allot ample time for it to arrive.
- Charges for the tickets will be added to the student's Powerschool Account. You will receive information from our business office when those charges have been added with options for making payment (EFunds or check). Purchased tickets are non-refundable.

This cost savings move will replace the paper statements mailed in the past. If you do no receive an email and have not paid your fees first check your Spam Folder. Please contact our Business Office at 785-330-4375 for more assistance. Paper statements will be mailed at the end of the school year to those with outstanding balances.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LVS FAMILIES!
All LVS families should have received information about the 2024-2025 Free and Reduced-Priced Meal Application which is available to complete on-line. For LVS families completing the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application AND completing the Consent for Disclosure Form (send Consent for Disclosure to lvs@usd497.org) is the only way to apply for Free/Reduced Fees.
Fees have not been assessed yet but now is a great time to apply to have them waived if you qualify.
A lot of qualifed families missed out on getting their fees waived last year because they did not provide the signed Consent for Disclosure Form so please do not forget this important step.

PowerSchool Parent Access Information
All LVS Parents, for your student to be successful you need to create your PowerSchool Parent Account as soon as possible. The Enrollment department provided you with the information required to set up your parent account. If you did not receive the information please contact lvsapplicant@usd497.org and they will provide you with the information needed.

All Home/Mailing Address Changes will be made by completing the Address Change form. Home addresses changes require Proof of Residence (utility bill, lease agreement, or vehicle registration emailed to lvs@usd47.org).
Scholastic Book Clubs
Scholastic Reading Club is an opportunity for K-8 students to order books from Scholastic Book Clubs that are delivered directly to your home. When you use the LVS code to purchase books, we can offer free books to share with students.
