This week at Compass, 9th-11th grade students will take one Horizon ACT section test per day during 6th period (flex/advisory), in order to track their progress on ACT-assessed skills, gain additional exposure to ACT-style testing, and help teachers plan for personalized instruction in various skill areas. Students who travel to another building during 6th period will have the option to take the tests at an alternate time.

Students in the First Responders seminar took a field trip to Tri-Com Central Dispatch, where they learned how 911 dispatchers use Geographic Information System (GIS) to help them route responses to calls. In the new Compass fitness room, students in wellness seminars are enjoying trying out the new equipment and adding exercises to their routines.

In Nonfiction Reading seminar, an interdisciplinary English and Wellness course, students interviewed staff and peers to investigate their knowledge and beliefs about various health and wellness topics.

Compass Academy students pre-order their lunch, so if your student plans to order lunch, please have them complete the form that is linked above. Students are always welcome to bring food from home, if they prefer. If your student may qualify for free or reduced lunch, please complete this form or have them get a paper copy of the form from the Compass office.
