Some thoughts for the starting school year
A Message from Principal Hutto
November was a month filled with gratitude, community, and cozy days. As the leaves changed color and the air turned crisp, we were excited to share all the wonderful things happening at Allen Elementary. From Fall Family Fun Night to Thanksgiving Lunch, there was something for everyone to enjoy. We’re especially proud of the progress our first and second graders are making as they learn to read, write, add, and subtract. Their enthusiasm for learning is truly inspiring!

Curriculum Corner
The second quarter has been a time of significant mathematical growth for our students. Our first graders have been diligently working on mastering addition facts, building a strong foundation for future mathematical concepts. They have been engaged in a variety of activities, from using manipulatives to practicing mental math strategies. Meanwhile, our second graders have been diving into the world of measurement, focusing primarily on length concepts. They have been exploring concepts such as inches, feet, and yards, using tools like rulers to measure objects around the classroom and school. Through hands-on experiences, our students are developing a deep understanding of measurement and its real-world applications.
