Principal's Message
Eagles,
Thank you again to everyone who helped make Louie Palooza a success. Despite the wet weather, we chose to dance in the rain and celebrate when the clouds cleared! We appreciate all the hard work the PTA put in organizing everything, and everyone who donated items for games and gift baskets. I think kids and families had a lot of fun!
This week, our 3rd-5th grade students began CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Progress and Performance) testing. We appreciate that families in these grades are doing their best to make sure students arrive at school rested and on time so they can do their best. Please know that while these tests give us a glimpse of what our students are able to academically perform in this moment in time, it is just a snapshot, and we understand and communicate to them that they are more than a test score. In fact, that is why we celebrate students for their effort rather than their performance with our weekly awards. We celebrate students for their character more than their achievement, and we appreciate that you do the same at home too.
With 5 weeks of school left, there is still a lot of learning and fun left in this school year. We hope and ask that families please continue to prioritize attendance unless students are sick.
Lastly, we know Mother's Day is a little over a week away. We would like to wish all moms and mother-figures a happy day. Additionally, I am happy to announce that our Assistant Principal, Ms. Allen, is a first-time mom, having given birth to her son Bennet on April 24. He is a healthy 8 lbs 7.5 oz, and we are thrilled for them.
Thank you all for your partnership to ensure your child's greatest level of success in school. We appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
Lani Russi
Principal, TLES
