Craddock's Weekly Update

We had a wonderful week celebrating our staff! From a pizza lunch, to a PTO-sponsored breakfast to new Craddock t-shirts, the love was flowing for these 60 AMAZING folks! We are so lucky to have each and every one of them at Craddock and continue to be appreciative of all they do for our students and their families!

I am excited to spend some time with the parents/guardians of our incoming 1st graders on Tuesday night. Incoming First Grade Parent Orientation is set for Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30 in the Craddock gym. This event is structured for parents/guardians only. We will orientate them this week with a visit to Craddock and over the summer through tours and Popsicles on the Playground events. I hope to see lots of you there!

Finally, Happy Mother's Day to ALL of our beautiful, amazing, patient Craddock moms on Sunday! Our staff is so grateful for your ongoing support and partnership and we wish you a spectacular Mother's Day! Thank you for all you do each day to help your child grow and be successful!

Owen did a wonderful job quickly acclimating to the job of a principal! He was energetic, happy and willing to help anyone with anything all throughout the day! I asked him to write a little excerpt for the parent newsletter about his day and here is what he had to say..."During principal of the day I did a lot of stuff. I did filling the book machine, doing a part of the announcements and eating McDonalds. I also got to go to the teacher's lounge to set up some sweets for the teachers and put stuff in their mailboxes." It was a great day for Owen and his principal who loved spending the day with him!

We are so excited to be planning this super amazing day for our students and staff! Field Day is a day-long experience where our students move from station to station, collaborating and strategizing their way to lots of fun! There will be 19 different stations the kids go to and the Kona Ice truck will make an appearance, as well!

Another great part of this day is all of the parents that agree to dedicate some of their time to volunteer and help out! We LOVE having you! We will have a need for help in the AM, as well as the PM. A link has been sent out by PTO to secure volunteers.

On this day, please make sure you send your child to school with a water bottle labeled with their name, their Aurora shirt, tennis shoes and comfortable pants/shorts. The kids will have a super fun, but super busy day and will want to be comfortable! I would also recommend applying some sun block before you send them off out the door! Fingers crossed for great weather!

We are working really hard at Craddock to streamline communication so we can be as efficient as possible when getting your child home safely and reporting attendance. To do that, we moved last year to being completely electronic, which we will continue this year and have expanded K-5!

If you want to change your child's transportation in any way, please scan the QR code below or click the button below to fill out our Google form. This can be done from any device and your reply will be sent immediately to our secretary, Mrs. Kerchenski.

Also, if your child is absent, instead of calling us, you can also use this code to report the absence and reason for the absence. We are working really hard to reduce the amount of phone calls, emails or notes that we receive. We ask that you reserve those modes of communication for emergencies only. It's hard to manage communication coming in from all those different medias for 400 plus students. Thank you in advance for your help and let us know if you have any questions at all!
