The Lion's Roar
November 15, 2024
A Note From Mrs. Bowden...
As we move through November, I want to thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. This month, we are building upon our strong foundations and getting to the core of our curriculum. Please encourage your student to check their Ascender for grades and Google for their assignments. In the coming weeks look for Parent Information Nights. The topics will be on Google, Curriculum, Safety & Security just to name a few. I look forward to being able to answer questions and spend time with families.
We are also preparing for some exciting events in the coming weeks! Our 1st ever Lip Sync Battle is going to be an EPIC evening of fun! It is for the entire family!!
Thank you for being such an integral part of our learning community and Lion Family. Let's make this month one to remember!
Just a few reminders:
- Attendance matters. Please refer to the Parent - Student Handbook for school policy.
- Dress Code. It is enforced and students will receive consequences for not adhering to dress code.
- Student ID. Is part of dress code and part of safety and security. Students will be serving detention and ISS. This is an integral part of safety & security. All students need to have a picture ID while in the hallways and classrooms.
- Tardiness. This results in missing class time and instruction. Students need to arrive to school and class on time.
- Please remind your students to think about what they say to others and to keep their hands & feet to themselves.
- Hair must be clean, neatly styled, and not obstruct a clear view of the face and eyes.
We appreciate your support with dress code and expectations for behavior at Leadership Prep.
It is a great day to be a LION.

Safety Update
In our continued efforts to provide a safe and secure environment for students, the City of Frisco has updated our school crossing signs on Teel. The reflective signs are brighter and helps protect our crossing guard and students while crossing Teel.
Fun Fact...you have to Zoom in BUT the City of Frisco employee is a former LPS graduate, Class of 2022.

Lunch Help
Hello Parents,
We are in desperate need for volunteers to help serve lunch at both our elementary and secondary campuses on Mondays and Thursdays. If you’re available to assist on either or both days, your support would be greatly appreciated!
As an added bonus, volunteering gives you a chance to see your kids during the school day. Whether you can help regularly or just occasionally, any time you can offer is valuable.
If you're interested, please email me at jdugas1@lpsfrisco.com with your preferred campus and availability.
Thank you for your help in making our lunch service a success!
Best regards,
Jennifer Dugas

University of Texas at Austin - Top 5% Auto Admission Class of '26
LPS Juniors and Families -
As you may know, students who graduate in the top 10% of their class could qualify for automatic admission to many public universities in Texas through the Top 10% Rule. Senate Bill 175, passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, allows The University of Texas at Austin to limit automatic admission to 75 percent of the university’s enrollment capacity designated for first-time resident undergraduate students.
The University has determined that it will automatically admit all eligible summer/fall 2026 and spring 2027 freshman applicants who rank within the top 5% of their high school graduating classes. A letter from University President Jay C. Hartzell is attached to this correspondence.
Please let me know what questions you may have!
