What Did We Do Last Week?
We also began our Choir Culture map and have had students identify what countries and cultures they celebrate in their family! Thank you to our choir officers for this great idea and our generous donor for purchasing the map from our Amazon Wishlist!
Parent Help Needed for District Auditions
On Saturday, September 14, we are hosting the first round of this year's All-State Auditions. We will have students auditioning from all Fort Bend High Schools and well as students from LCISD High Schools totalling over 500 students. As a result, we will need LOTS of hands to help make this large event a success. We will have a morning and afternoon shift for parents in hopes that it provides schedule flexibility. If you are able and willing to help out, please click the button below to view available jobs for adult helpers. Thank you in advance!
Uniform Fittings
We will be doing our formal uniform fittings in class this week. Students who's uniforms do NOT require any alterations and have paid their choir fee will also be taking their uniform home.
Students wearing dresses: We are currently looking at a dress shortage for our treble singers. After speaking with our District Fine Arts office, I was informed that we are on the schedule to have a complete uniform closet refresh NEXT school year. Therefore, in the meantime, this school year I am asking that any students who still own a dress from JBMS that still fits, those students will wear that dress. If your child wears a JBMS dress that they already own, I will be refunding your uniform fee from the choir fee. I appreciate your patience and flexibility as we get everyone fitted and in a uniform this year.

Join our Choir Booster Club!
Our Choir Parent Booster Club operates to help support and assist the choir program in many ways! We have regular meetings to help plan events, discuss volunteer needs, and discuss financial needs of the choir program. You can be as involved as you would like to be! To encourage membership, the board has waived all membership fees this year in hopes that you will join us and find out ways you can support your child in their musical journey as a member of the Travis Tiger Choir!
THANK YOU to our generous Tiger Choir sponsors!
Thank you to everyone who has been purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist to help "clear the list!" I am SO grateful for your help and support! This week we received the world map above, sticker charts to track our between-classes Spirit Day Competitions, boxes of tissues, name tags for social events, serving spoons for choir socials and district choir events, and an ice chest that we can use for our social events and hosting district choir events.
If you are able to browse our list and help purchase an item, we would be SO grateful for your support!

Closed-toe shoes are also required no matter which option students choose.

Voice Lessons
This year we are thrilled to add another private voice teacher to our staff and extend a warm welcome to Mr. Antoine Griggs. Mr. Griggs is an accomplished performer who regularly sings with various organizations in Houston, including the Houston Ebony Opera Guild and Houston Grand Opera! He came to campus a couple weeks ago to meet the students and began lessons last week. He still has a few spots open. If your child is interested, or if you have any specific questions please feel free to reach out to him at antoinegriggs@gmail.com. We are very fortunate in Fort Bend that lessons are taught during student's choir class time so no additional rehearsal time is necessary and I hope that many students will take advantage of this awesome opportunity!
