High School Boundary Process: Board Scenario and Timeline Update
Jake Stueckle, Director of Secondary Instructional Systems, presented the three boundary scenarios (A, D, and F) to the board, explaining how they align with the district's guiding principles. He also highlighted the district's community engagement efforts to collect feedback through the boundary feedback cycle.
Mr. Stueckle addressed questions from the May 28th board meeting, including current and projected free and reduced lunch student percentages for all of Pasco’s middle and high schools. He discussed the number of students in accelerated pathways at Chiawana and Pasco High Schools, projections under each boundary scenario, and considerations for program implementation. Additionally, he explained potential transportation impacts under each scenario.
The Board discussed various scenarios and moved to approve boundary scenario D as the new boundaries for Chiawana, Pasco, and Sageview High Schools. This change will be effective for the 2025-2026 school year.

Overall, we had 1,208 graduates total, consisting of 601 students from Chiawana High School, 34 from Delta High School, 78 from New Horizons High School, and 495 students from Pasco High School.
Congratulations graduates!
Key Priority: Dual Language Program
Carla Lobos, Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services, provided an overview of the Dual Language Program in the Pasco School District.
Pasco has been a leader in bilingual education for decades and began implementing dual language programs five years ago, transitioning from late exit bilingual programs. These programs serve multilingual learners with Spanish or Russian as their home language and are available in all elementary schools except Livingston. The district offers both one-way and two-way dual language programs, with the latter allowing non-multilingual learners to learn a second language through a lottery system. Currently in its fifth year, the program will be fully implemented for grades K-5 in the next school year.
