Thank you so much for all of the volunteers that stepped up to help at both the Fan Jam and the Bike Rodeo. You guys are amazing. Thank you to all of the PTO volunteers that showed up to help decorate the school for the holidays too! Our school and kiddos are so very lucky to have so much support! THANK YOU! We have had a busy week but because of you all we have made it! THANK YOU!

We have lots of events ahead as we begin the month of December. Please see our 15 days to the holidays dress up days and events. One of our favorite events is our Annual VRES Staff Neighborhood Caroling Event! This year we will be coming to a neighborhood near you on Wednesday, December 18th! Mark your calendar! We would love to see you all!

I hope that this holiday break this next week allows you all the opportunity to spend some quality time together, to visit family and friends, eat good food, shop, visit your favorite spots and maybe even take a nap! Most of all I hope that you all have time to remind yourselves of the many blessings we all have and to reflect on things that your family is grateful for. I know that I am very grateful for this amazing community, this school, our wonderful students, our tremendous faculty and for the honor of getting to serve you as the principal. My heart is full! Over the last month, the Calendar Committee developed and narrowed down options for the official BISD 2025-2026 academic calendar. We encourage all parents/guardians, employees, and secondary students to take a moment and review the two calendar options presented. Emails with unique feedback links from K12 Insight went out November 19.

The calendar with the most votes will be presented to the BISD Board of Trustees for approval on Monday, December 16.

We have a “spirit night” SATURDAY NOVEMBER 23rd from 12-2pm at Kendra Scott located at La Cantera. For those who cannot attend in the store, there is a code good for 48 hours for those online shoppers to add at checkout (see flyer).

Our Kendra Gives Back event in-store or online (or both) will give 20% of the proceeds to our school!

We are in need of volunteers for Blessings in a Backpack for Van Raub. Volunteers will pick up empty bags at Van Raub, deliver to St. Peters Catholic Church gym, help with Blessings fulfillment and then return filled bags back to Van Raub. Most Blessings days fall on Thursdays, and take only an hour and half. Please take a look at our Sign up Genius for more information.

Mark your calendars for the Van Raub My Heart Glows Family Dance. This event is open to Van Raub students and their families only, and there is no cost to attend. More details coming soon!

The referral window for the Gifted and Talented program is NOW OPEN until December 17th. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to nominate your child for consideration in our Gifted and Talented program, which is designed to provide advanced educational opportunities for students who demonstrate exceptional abilities.
