Due to facilities and the State Marching Championship, we the decision was made weeks ago to record our Christmas Concerts this year instead of being in person. This week we will be recording all of our Christmas Concerts.

• Monday, December 7th - Wind Symphony & A Cappella Choir recording at Southfork Ranch.
• Friday, December 11th - Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band during band class times. Percussion and Symphonic PM will be field tripped out to record during periods 2-4.

The Wind Symphony is field tripped out for the day on Monday 12/7 to record your Christmas Concert. If you are one of the two that are not participating, you are not field tripped out and need to attend class online as normal.

Location

• Southfork Ranch (do not ask me for the address...that is what your phone is for)

Attire

• Concert attire
• Men wear your red bow ties for this concert.
• Everyone bring a festive had (Santa hat, etc)

Volunteers and Itinerary

• We need 2 Wind Symphony PARENT volunteers to pull the two trailers full of equipment to and from Southfork. Sign up on the link below.
• 8:15AM Percussion will meet at the HS to load percussion equipment into trailer.
• 8:15AM 6 member volunteers meet at HS to get chairs and stands on a trailer to take to Southfork. Sign up on the link below.
• 9:20AM All Wind Symphony members meet at Southfork Ranch (see map below)

We will set up & warm up.

• Rehearse and record with Choir - Christmastide
• Break for Choir to record (early lunch)
  
• Record the Band portion - Christmas Festival/ Sleigh Ride/ Christmas & Sousa/ Old Scottish Melody. 'Twas The Night Before Christmas will be recorded in class on Thursday or Friday.

I anticipate us being done recording by 3PM. We will then load up and bring all items back to WHS. Please plan out your transportation.

ONLINE STUDENTS: If you are not coming to school to be on the recording, you need to keep up with the rehearsals. You will be making a video of yourself playing the concert that will be part of the final video.

ATTIRE: Concert Attire (Details from Band Handbook below); you will be field tripped out 3rd period to change and get organized

ONLINE STUDENTS: You will receive an advanced recording of the in-person students. You will make a video of yourself playing your music while listening to the recording. You will wear earbuds to hear the recording. We want to hear only your sound on your video. Your video will be matched up with the in-person students’ video for the final concert video. You will wear your concert attire in the video. Online Freshmen who did not receive concert attire will wear concert black. Please ask if you have questions.

We have 8 Charter Buses for this trip. Bus sign up will be online Wednesday. Get with your peeps and have a plan...there are no more than 25 per bus. The people with the best plan will have the highest likelihood of being together.

In June of 2019 THAT WYLIE BAND was selected and invited by the St. Patrick's Festival adjudication committee to participate in the 2021 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. COVID-19 prevented the parade in 2020 and 2021, and our invitation has been moved to 2022. Below is updated information.
