Annual Registration Important Update Information
No Annual Registration, No Registration with LPS
If you have not completed Annual Registration or let LVS know your student will not be returning to a Lawrence Public School, the following will happen for the fall.
What happens if I don't complete my student's Annual Registration?
- Your student will not be able to start classes in the fall.
- Your student's spot might be filled with an incoming student.
- Your student's iPad 9 will be disabled and a new device will not be issued until the Annual is completed.
How do I get Started?
Log into your Parent/Guardian PowerSchool account and complete the 2025-2026 Annual Student Registration: https://usd497.powerschool.com. It only takes a few minutes.
Click here for helpful instructions. Be sure to use a web browser when starting this process, Chrome is preferred. (The Annual Student Registration is unavailable through the mobile PowerSchool app). If you are using a phone, once you are logged in, please turn your phone horizonal to see the menu bar on the left side.
In order to complete the Annual Registration a parent/guardian will need a Parent Portal Account. To recieve the information needed to create this account please call our office at 785-832-5620.
Pay Your School Fees by June 10!
School Fees for 2024-2025 are due by June 10 to avoid going to collections:
- By check made out to USD497 and mailed to LVS, 110 McDoald Dr., Lawrence, KS 66044
- Online with a credit/debit card by going to Pay Fees
- Via phone by calling Cindy in our Business Office at 785-330-4375
LVS Students to receive MacBook Computers for 2025-2026!
Attention Returning LVS Students
All students returning to LVS for the 2025-2026 school year will recieve a new MacBook Air computer in August. Returning students, please keep your iPad 9 until you receive further instructions. We will schedule pickup days in August to exchange your device.
Returning students outside of Lawrence will receive a prepaid UPS label within the next few weeks. MacBooks will be shipped in August to returning students who have returned their iPad 9s and completed the Annual Registration.
We are only accepting iPad 9 returns from graduating and withdrawing students at this time. Lawrence Graduates and withdrawing students need to make an appointment to return the device by using this form.

HIGH SCHOOL NEWS
Order Student Transcripts through Parchment!
HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS AVAILABLE
All currently enrolled LVS High School students can access their transcript through Parchment. When creating your account please use your personal email address; DO NOT use a school email address. You will have access to this account until July 31st after graduation or withdrawal from LVS. The LVS office will no longer be providing transcripts to current High School students, so please create your Parchment account today!

Submission guidelines for the 2025 Youth Art Contest are in the attached PDF. Messages should reflect themes of home, help, strangth, and resilence. Grades 6-12 are eligible to enter with winners representing the 2025-2025 campaign to prevent suicide. Deadline to enter is June 9th.

BuckleUp Driving School Offers Student Discount
BuckleUp Driving School of Lawrence offers USD 497 students a
$10 discount for driving instruction when enrolled by July 20 for any date of instruction.
BuckleUp School is licensed by the Kansas Department of Education to meet the requirements for a farmer’s permit, restricted license, and a Kansas driver’s license. Anyone age 14 years and older may register for driving lessons.
BuckleUp offers eight hours of classroom instruction and six hours behind-the-wheel training. Flexible driving schedule. We also offer individual and private driving lessons. The school provides free morning snacks and lunch. Graduates are eligible for insurance discounts. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a certificate of completion to exchange for a learner’s permit, restricted license, or a driver’s license at the DMV. No DMV test required. Parent/Guardian Information
Statements now emailed to main parent/guardian!
The District Finance office now emails Fee Statements to the main parent/guardian contact of students who still have outstanding accounts.
- The subject line of this email will be "Month" Fee Statement
- If will come from Lawrence Public Schools - USD #497
- The from email address may be Notification-Do_Not_Reply@target.brightarrow.com
- Please set your email settings so this does not go to your spam
- If you need to update your email address please send it to the LVS Business Office
- See fees due and Pay on-line here
This cost savings move will replace the paper statements mailed in the past. If you do no receive an email and have not paid your fees first check your Spam Folder. Please contact our Business Office at 785-330-4375 for more assistance. Paper statements will be mailed at the end of the school year to those with outstanding balances.

PowerSchool Parent Access Information
All LVS Parents, for your student to be successful you need to create your PowerSchool Parent Account as soon as possible. The Enrollment department provided you with the information required to set up your parent account. If you did not receive the information please contact lvs@usd497.org and they will provide you with the information needed.

It is important that your LVS teachers and staff have current contact information. If you have a new email or phone number please contact our office (lvs@usd497.org or 785-832-5620).
All Home/Mailing Address Changes will be made by completing the Address Change form. Home addresses changes require Proof of Residence (utility bill, lease agreement, or vehicle registration emailed to lvs@usd47.org).
Scholastic Book Clubs
Scholastic Reading Club is an opportunity for K-8 students to order books from Scholastic Book Clubs that are delivered directly to your home. When you use the LVS code to purchase books, we can offer free books to share with students.
