Parent Pick-up and Drop-off
As the weather begins to turn, we are seeing an increase in the number of cars in our drop-off and pick-up lines. Please be advised of the following expectations when picking up or dropping off your children:
- Pull up as far as you can to help keep traffic moving
- Refrain from using your cell phone while driving
- Pull up close to the car in front of you, but do not park on the crosswalks
- Encourage your child to quickly exit the vehicle once parked.
- Students should only ever enter or exit a vehicle from the sidewalk
Thank you for your assistance in ensuring the safety of our students during arrival and dismissal.
Students Leaving Early from School
Cold and flu season is now upon us. We’re seeing an increase in the number of students going home sick, which is typical for this time of year. To help us best support your children while they are at school, we ask that you instruct your child to report to the nurse’s office when they are not feeling well. If a student is sick and not able to continue with their school day, you will receive a call from our Nurse’s Office to come and pick up your child. We have seen an uptick in the number of parents who show up to Thompson to pick up their student without notification or communication. Please instruct your child to go through the Nurse’s Office if they’re not feeling well and need to go home.
