Positive Parent Engagement
Easy Ways to Get More Involved
Studies have repeatedly shown that students are more successful when their parents are supportive, and involved in their education. How to make this happen is often more difficult than it sounds. One of the benefits of being a Title I school is to help parents overcome these challenges. The tips below outline a few ways in which you can deepen your engagement.
- Volunteer at your child's school
- Attend school events
- Communicate with your child's teacher regularly
- Request a parent-teach conference
- Join your school's Parent Teacher organization
- Read with your child or help with homework
Contact your school's PIC to for assistance or to ask questions about how you can become a volunteer!
