Message from Mrs. Johansen
Dear Wildcat Community,
I have included a few updates in this newsletter for families.
Fall Fest: As you know, our annual PTSA Fall Fest is tonight from 4:30-6. Thank you to our amazing PTSA and all of their planning for this event. Also, sincere thanks to our custodial crew for their help with set up. It'll be a great event for all!
October Spirit Week: We are holding a Spirit Week during the week of October 28th. See the image below for the theme for each day, including Halloween. In Middle School, we do not have Halloween parties or dress up on Halloween costumes. If students choose to dress up, they will use the "Decades Day" theme for the day. In alignment with the D15 Food/Nutritional policy, students may not pass out candy or bring candy to school.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be held on November 25th and 26th. We have limited conference times and are dedicated to making sure we have crucial conversations with students and parents we really need to connect with. In the next week, we will begin contacting specific parents who we need to connect with regarding their student's progress in middle school so far. Please know, we are not able to have a conference with every parent given the limited time. However, we are always happy to have a conversation with parents regarding your child's progress at any time.
- Support from our Student Services Team: Our Outreach For Assistance Form is for you to fill out if your family is in need of assistance. Please feel free to reach out to our CSMS clinician team with any questions. Our students have access to a form to discreetly request assistance from a clinician while in school, as well.
- Wildcat Way Google Classroom: Did you know that we have a Wildcat Way Google Classroom that every staff member and student review each day? This is where our morning announcements are posted and ALL important announcements about clubs/intramurals/school activities are included. I encourage all parents to sit down with your student to review this google classroom with your child. You'll find tons of information on there that your student may forget to tell you because their day is SO busy!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Sandburg Principal

If your Veteran is in the area and would like to come to Sandburg on November 11th, we would love to welcome him or her to our school for this assembly and a small reception afterward.
