LEARNING HIGHLIGHTS
Pre-K students had a busy week learning in their "classroom garden." Students discovered where different vegetables grow, planned their own gardens, and some even planted lima bean seeds in a paper towel. Students enjoyed sorting vegetables that grow above and below ground, created carrot art, and smelled herbs like dill, parsley, and chives. In science, students learned about plant needs and predicted if their lima bean seeds would grow with water, sun, and a paper towel 💦😎🌱. They also played fun theme-related games like vegetable Bingo 🥕🍆🍅🌽 and practiced writing the letters during Fundations.
It was an exciting week in Kindergarten! Students learned about cave art and how Paleoanthropologists use it to understand people from long ago 🎨👩🏻🎨. During Readers Workshop, they discussed non-fiction books using fancy topic words. In Writers Workshop, students revisited their non-fiction pieces to add more details. In Math, they explored addition and subtraction with "function machines," discovered equivalent names for numbers (e.g., 10 is 5+5 or 8+2), and played games involving shapes and positional language. In Science, they observed how the sun 🌞 heats things up and designed shade structures. In Social Studies, they explored the Statue of Liberty🗽 .
A special thank you goes out to Ms. D'Agostino for organizing another fun field day for our Kindergarten superstars 🌟!

JOIN THE PTO EXECUTIVE BOARD IN 2024-25
A Message from the Lincoln School PTO:
The PTO is a fun and rewarding way to be a vibrant part of our Lincoln family. No experience required! This is a great opportunity to get involved, to help make a great year for your Lincoln student, and to meet other parents!
We are gathering interest now for roles on the Lincoln PTO Executive Board for next year. The board meets once a month, either virtually or in person. Much of the work is done independently between meetings, and the time commitment required ebbs and flows through the year.
Committees and Class Parent volunteer sign-ups will be separately sent in the fall and are other opportunities to get involved.
Click below to see descriptions of Executive Board roles, and submit your interest now!
