STEAM Ahead
This week, High school volunteers welcomed second-grade students from Clearview Elementary and North Hopewell Elementary for an exciting day of STEAM exploration. During the STEAM Ahead event, students dove into hands-on activities, including coding, breaking out of the Art Escape Room, and creating electrical circuits. The day was filled with curiosity, creativity, and collaboration! We can’t wait to host our next group of young learners from Pleasant View Elementary next month.

Attention Athletes!
Congratulations!! If you are interested in earning your varsity jacket, you will need to participate in the “Quiet Dress-Up Day” and also perform community and athletic service projects. Once you have completed everything, you may order your varsity jacket.
Dress-up day will be held on Tuesday, November 26th. You will need to wear Red Lion gear supporting your athletic teams. Everyone will meet in the athletic center at 7:30 am – please report to first period and then to the Athletic Center. Please bring along your varsity letter (if you haven’t had your banquet, I have “RL” letters in my office). Any questions, please see Mr. Masser or Ms. Reinert, all requirements to earn your jacket will be discussed at the brief meeting. Thank you and Congratulations again!!
The Library hosted an event in early Fall for students to get a library card from York County Library System. Students received their cards this past week.
York Builders Association Career Fair
Red Lion Area Senior High School students recently attended the York Builders Association's High School Career Fair held at Wyndam Garden Hotel in York, PA. This event showcased multiple businesses from around the area. Students could explore what businesses interested them, ask questions to prospective employers, or take time to practice interviewing skills. Pawsitive Pal of the Week!
This week's "Pawsitive Pal" award goes to our entire high school cafeteria staff!
The cafeteria staff works tirelessly every day to plan, prepare, and serve lunch to over 1400 students, offering a variety of options—including a full salad bar—so everyone can find something they enjoy. They also help us start our days off right by preparing the grab-and-go breakfast each morning.
Yesterday, we were especially grateful for the traditional Thanksgiving holiday meal, which was delicious and much appreciated by all. Thank you to the entire cafeteria team for not only providing us with healthy meals but for always doing so with a smile.
Important Information
Information Regarding Good Standing Status
Attention Parents, Guardians and Students: We are continuing to monitor data to determine which students are in good standing and those that are not. If a student is not in good standing their privileges to the cafe will be revoked for one week. Grade and attendance reports are generated on Thursday mornings at 9am. Students and guardians will receive notification Thursday afternoon by email to notify them if they able to visit our wonderful cafe. Participation in the end of the marking period reward and other events can be determined by a student's good standing status. Please reach out to your assistant principal if you have any questions or concerns.
Criteria used to determine good standing:
1. Students must maintain passing grades (60% or higher for the marking period grade). Students are allowed to have one course grade lower than 60%.
2. Students must have 9 or fewer unexcused absences in the past two months.
3. Students must adhere to the student code of conduct as explained in the Student Handbook. Repeated or multiple minor infractions or serious violations result in being removed from good standing.
STEM Summit - December 4 & 5 - URGENT NEED!
We have an URGENT need for volunteers for an event that is going on at Red Lion Area High School on Wednesday, December 4th and Thursday, December 5th. Junior Achievement of South Central PA will be here with their STEM Summit program and all 332, 9th graders will be participating in day long activities designed to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM fields.
We are still in need of at least 7 volunteers for December 5th to make this event happen for the students. If we can’t get the volunteers to help, this day is in danger of being cancelled. I hope you will please join us as we spend the day impacting and inspiring the students at our school! I also hope you will share this opportunity with other friends, neighbors and colleagues who may be interested in helping the students. We need to spread the word and help to save the day!
Volunteers will work alongside other volunteers to facilitate one thirty- minute activity eight times during the day with small groups of students. Check out the links to the Volunteer Overview and the informational video in the attached flyer for more information. You can also view the activities on our website. https://www.jascpa.org/stemsummittraining
JA will provide training the morning of the event and as soon as you sign up you will receive a link to both written instructions and a brief training video. School clearances are not required for this one-day event. You do not need to have any specific background or training to help. Red Lion Area High School will provide a light breakfast and lunch!
To sign up or for more information, please contact Shannon Baker at JA at Sbaker@jascpa.org
