Kidd Healthy Heart Challenge
Village Elementary is excited to come together in the fight against heart disease to help support the American Heart Association through the Kids Heart Challenge! The program will be starting on Monday, June 3rd and your student will be sent home with more information. Our very own Village alumni and CHS student, Sofia, will be helping to support this event and students will be focusing on heart-healthy activities in PE with Mr. Barbera. During the Kids Heart Challenge, your student will learn about heart, brain, and vascular health, and learn how to help those with special hearts! Our goal is to have 100% of our school families register and learn Hands Only CPR through Finn’s Mission. We want all of our students to learn about their heart, and families can participate in optional fundraising to earn thank-you gifts for our students and givebacks for our school.
Students who register early will be honored during morning announcements!
- Register at http://www2.heart.org/goto/VillageElementary or download the FREE AHA Schools App for Apple or Android

Leader in Me Measurable Results Assessment Surveys
Village Elementary is going to be a Leader in Me School for the 2024-25 school year! Part of this program is to gather feedback from students, staff and parents about our school. 4th and 5th grade students will be coming home with a permission slip this week to take the student survey.
We would appreciate if you took three minutes to complete our family survey. Your input is extremely valuable and we use this data to help create goals for school improvement.
2024-25 Enrollment Survey
Please take a quick minute to fill out this survey to help our school and CUSD determine enrollment projections for the following school year.
2024-25 Classroom Placement Inquiries
Classroom placements and balancing is a complex process with many different factors and priorities. Although we cannot guarantee that we can act on parent input, we will be happy to record the needs of your child and do our best to take them into consideration. We will not take requests for particular teachers into consideration. If you would like us to record any particular needs for your child, please reach out to your child's teacher. Thank you for understanding.

Military Corner from Mindy Hayes
Hi Military Families:
Welcome to Pride Month! Did you know, the U.S. has been celebrating Pride Month since 1970? The Library of Congress has wonderful webpages dedicated to the history of Pride Month, along with links to events, resources, and a vast audio and video collection. Check it out: https://www.loc.gov/lgbt-pride-month/
As we wrap up the school year, I wish each of you a wonderful summer and smooth transition into your next school year. Reminder, if you plan to attend a public school site in the fall, be sure to visit your school/district website to begin the online registration process. Registering now helps our schools better plan for staffing and student success.
If you are PCSing to a new duty station, let me know so I can connect you with your School Liaison (SL). A SL is a great resource for area information and connection in your new home.
