NATIONAL CHILD NUTRITION EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION WEEK
So many staff in the Pleasant Union Family are essential to our students' success. This week we celebrate the ladies in our cafeteria for making sure that students have the opportunity for a hot breakfast and lunch. Nutrition from meals help all of our students, not to mention our staff be more productive. Please take time to view the "Lunch Lady" Ted Talk below from Jarrett Krosoczka, author of Lunch Lady graphic novel series. Then take time to talk with your child about the importance of nutritional meals and their importance. Last please find a special way that your family can find some creative way to say thank you to our child nutrition staff. Thank yous in whatever format are always appreciated (posters for cafeteria, thank you cards, singing a special song, flowers, etc.). Also check out the National School Lunch Hero Day video for ideas to thank our staff.

ODYSSEY OF THE MIND SPIRIT NIGHT AT MILTON'S 4/29/19
We hope that you can join us at Milton's tomorrow, Monday, April 29th to help our PUE Odyssey of the Mind Team raise money to attend the World competition in Michigan in May. Pleasant Union's Odyssey of the Mind team qualified for the "Worlds" and is finding creative ways to raise money to pay for registration and other expenses (Travel and Motel). The OM team has partnered with Milton's to host a fundraising night to help our team get to Worlds!
The PUE OM Spirit Night will be Monday, April 29th from 5-10 pm at the Six Forks Milton's location. Families can dine-in or order take-out to support our team. Mention the PUE OM team at check-out and at least 10% of the sales will be donated to our team.
Please see linked flyer to find out the details for exact address of the event. We also sent out hard copy fliers in last Tuesday's "Tuesday Folders".
Thank you in advance for your finding a way to help our team out. If you have any questions about the Spirit Night at Milton's event please reach out to Heather Fields.

May Staff Appreciation Breakfast Clarification
Heather Wilson, PUE PTA sent home the following message to parents this week:
To All PUE Parents. A pink flyer went home today in Tuesday folders regarding Staff Appreciation Week. Please note that there was an error in the flyer. The May 9th breakfast will not be hosted by the Kindergarten families. The PTA will be providing a small continental breakfast to the teachers on this date. The Kindergarten families will be hosting a breakfast for the teachers on Friday, May 31st. We apologize for the confusion. Have a beautiful night!
