Graduation Day Information - Students
Cap & Gown
All students are required to wear a Jostens cap and gown in the Dubiski Green. Please make sure to take the gown out of the bag a few days prior to graduation and hang it in the bathroom to let steam get the wrinkles out. It is not recommended to iron the gown. If you need to purchase your cap and/or gown, please visit Golden Graduations though the link below.
Graduation Regalia
All students must wear a gown purchased from Jostens. Please make sure that you take the gown out a few weeks prior to the ceremony. Jostens recommends that you hang it on the hanger and hang it in bathroom with the shower and let the steam get the wrinkles out. This is not a fabric that you can easily iron.
The only graduation stoles and cords that students are allowed to wear are those that students receive on the night of Senior Recognition Night. Other graduation items are not allowed to be worn during the ceremony. Any student that comes to graduation will be asked to return to their car and put the non-district approved items back. If you have questions about regalia, please direct them to Mrs. Teubner at Sarah.Teubner@gpisd.org
Dress Expectations
This is a very important occasion. You have worked hard to get to this moment. The dress for this event is semi-formal. No jeans, shorts, sweatpants, yoga pants, or any casual wear is allowed. For the ladies, it is recommended that you wear flats as the stairs up to the stage are narrow and steep. Flats work best to avoid falling.
Bags
No bags are allowed in the venue.
Arrival
Students will be allowed to enter the Ellis Davis, Jr. Field House at 12PM on May 30th. They cannot be late as they will have to get through traffic to park in parking lot A, walk to the venue, enter door the door on the back dock area (on the west side), be checked through security, be directed to their waiting place. It is extremely important that students arrive on time.
Students park in Lot A.
Students need to walk down the dock entry to the student entrance. It is across from parking lot A.
At the end of the dock walkway is the student entrance door.
