St Bernadette's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 3 I 2 August 2024
Afternoon everyone,
It has been a very busy week for me behind the scenes with our Stage 9 CDP (Early Learning Centre and carpark) going out to tender in the coming weeks. This is an exciting time for our community, and I look forward to working with our staff and consultants to build a beautiful space for our students. And while we are at it, try and fix some of the issues in the carpark!
On that note, just another reminder that whenever we experience conflict (particularly in the carpark) Kindness and Respect should be the starting point for every interaction. The more we can model dealing with conflict appropriately to our young people, the better off our community will be.
With a few carnivals coming up, it is also a timely reminder to demonstrate, discuss and model good sportsmanship with our students at all events. There have been a few incidents of poor behaviour (nothing to do with St Bernie’s) at sports carnivals recently and all schools have been asked to highlight this in their community. We are very lucky to have a vibrant community of people who want the best for their kids and this sort of behaviour, just like getting angry in the carpark, does not align with the values of our school and community.
On Wednesday I met with the SAC and Tracy, Caitlin and I went through some of our recent NAPLAN data at this meeting. We have lots to celebrate with our whole school data looking really good across all learning areas. Over the past 4 years, our staff have worked really hard to give our students the best opportunities to succeed and while there is always more to do, I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and dedication to their profession. If you are interested in having a look at some data, I will be going through some of the graphs at our P&F Meeting on Monday morning.
It has obviously been a great day outside with our Cross Country Carnival. Congratulations to Lourdes who took out top honours today! Thanks to all who came to watch and our staff for their hard work! Enjoy the weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week!
