Hello Husky Families! I hope you are all having a wonderful week and stayed dry in all of this rain. It's hard to believe but we are already at the middle of the 1st quarter of the 2024-25 school year. Interim reports will go home with all students next week.
Just a friendly reminder that this Friday, 9/20 is a Teacher Workday so there is no school for students. 😊
As always, reach out with any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Catherine Shearin, Principal

School Visitor Management System
To continue providing safe learning environments, all schools in our district have visitor sign-in procedures. The District-wide Visitor Management System verifies all school visitors, checks sex offender registries and prohibited person lists for potential matches, and adds an additional layer of safety to our schools by allowing staff to keep track of who is on campus.
Everyone visiting our school must report to the office and check in using the Visitor Management System. All visitors and parents should bring a photo ID each time you come to school. IDs will be checked when visiting or checking out students. This is a safety measure to protect all of our students.
Donor's Choose Project for STEM - We're Almost There!! 😁
We're almost funded for Ms. Lewis' exciting project on Donors Choose. The project, titled 'Stop and Make Learning Exciting', is for Stop Motion Animation materials for your child's STEM classroom! Please consider donating to this amazing project to support the teaching/learning in our amazing STEM class!
Sickness and Return to School
It is that time of year when germs, viruses, and sickness spread amongst our students and staff. For the well-being of everyone, please keep your children home when they are sick to prevent the spread of germs.
Children may not return to school until they are diarrhea and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication.
See the link below for WCPSS information on illness.
Walking To/From School
Approved walkers should only be walking to and from home during arrival and dismissal. At no time should students be walking to or from a vehicle. If you do not live close enough to walk to and from home, students should be carpool or bus riders. Parents should never park in the neighborhood, along the streets, or at Sears Farm Park just so students can be walkers. This creates hazardous traffic patterns in the neighborhood streets, unsafe passage for students, and is a nuisance to our neighbors. Cary PD monitors the neighborhood to ensure students are arriving and dismissing safely and to prevent illegal parking in the neighborhood.
Art Contest Club
The Art Contest Club will kick off this year in the art room (203) on Thursday, September 19 at 8:15 am. Art Contest Club is a drop-in opportunity for students who need the time and materials to work on various art contests throughout the school year. We will begin with the PTA Reflections contest (all grade levels) due on October 18 and the "Wetlands are Wonderful" contest (grades 3-4) due on November 6. Hope to see you there!

Don't forget, all volunteers must be 'registered volunteers'.
Thank you! 🐺
