INNOVATIVE TEACHING. EXPERT EDUCATORS. THRIVING STUDENTS.
October 20, 2023
From the Head of School...
Dear Summit School Families,
I hope this message finds you well. At Summit School, we value the collective wisdom and input of our diverse community, and we believe that your feedback is invaluable in shaping the future of our school.
One of the ways we aim to enhance our educational offerings and continue our tradition of excellence is through the establishment of a Community Advisory Team (CAT). This team will serve as a dynamic platform for open dialogue, idea-sharing, and constructive feedback to help shape the future direction of our school. We are looking for 5-7 enthusiastic volunteers from our community to be a part of this exciting initiative.
Why should you consider being a part of our Community Advisory Team? Here are a few examples of recent and upcoming programs that showcase the dynamic changes happening at Summit School:
NASA HUNCH: Our students have the opportunity to participate for a second year in this incredible NASA program, working on projects and collaborating with professionals in various fields. Your insights can help us make the most of remarkable experiences like this.
Drone Flight School: Drone Flight School, a middle school elective, inspires our students' interest in technology. Your ideas can play a pivotal role in developing similar new offerings.
World Language Programs: Our Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and French language programs are flourishing. Your feedback can ensure these programs meet the evolving needs of our students.
Wednesday Enrichment Programs: From American Sign Language (ASL) to preschool buddies, our Wednesday enrichment programs are designed to broaden our students' horizons. Your thoughts can help us expand and improve these initiatives.
Upcoming Hovercraft Project: Our grade. 4-6 students are about to embark on an exciting Hovercraft Project. Your input can shape future STEM opportunities at Summit School.
To make this CAT initiative successful, we are seeking individuals who are willing and able to meet in person with me on a quarterly basis, starting at 4 pm. This is a three meeting commitment for the 2023-24 school year. The first meeting will be on November 2 and future dates will be decided collaboratively.
If you are interested in being a part of the Summit School Community Advisory Team and contributing to our school's continued success, please complete the attached form by 4pm on October 25 to express your interest. Once all forms have been collected, I will reach out to you regarding the opportunity. Should we have an overwhelming response, you may be asked to participate in a future team.
Your involvement in this process is highly appreciated and essential to the development of our school. Together, we can work towards an even brighter future for Summit School, filled with new opportunities and educational excellence.
Thank you for being a part of our vibrant community, and I look forward to the positive changes we will achieve together.
Warm regards,
Dr. Stephanie Nardi

The Kindness Fish
Summit students Ella, Ariana, Elilai, Harper and Ramzi collaborated on a Kindness Fish project during their lunch recess. In Ella's words, "The reason I drew this picture is because one day I had a paper and didn't know what to draw on it. So, then I remembered it was kindness month. I thought I would do something representing kindness. I decided to make a kindness fish and asked my friends to help me. I drew a big fish/whale and we all colored it different colors together. The meaning of this picture is "No one is perfect and we all belong." We asked people to sign it and draw a fish with it to make a school of fish! The school of fish represents all of us and that we are all different and perfect in our own way."
Thank you Ella, Ariana, Elilai, Harper and Ramzi for showing us what kindness is all about! Our school of fish is lucky to have such great leaders with caring hearts. Keep up the great work!

Do not park in such a way to hinder the flow of traffic or jeopardize the safety of children.
Parking is not allowed along the red curbs.
Do not park in the designated spaces purchased by guardians at the annual Summit School Auction.
State law prohibits neglect and endangerment of children. Never leave children unattended in a vehicle at any time, and always use car seats and seat belts.
Students cannot be dropped off in the parking lots.
Pedestrians are not permitted to cut through the carline.
Please do not try to meet with teachers while they are supervising carline.
There is no use of wireless phones (or other digital devices) while in the carline.
At dismissal, please do not arrive earlier than 15 minutes before your child’s dismissal, time as this blocks our fire lane and inhibits emergency vehicles from entering our facility.
Summit School is not responsible for damage to vehicles or theft. Please secure all valuables and use caution while moving through the parking lot and carline areas.
Key fobs will allow access to campus on scheduled school days at the following times/locations:
Front Office doors during office hours (7:45 AM – 3:45 PM)
Front blue gate during drop off (8:00 AM – 8:15 AM), pick up (3:15 PM – 3:30 PM) and afternoon extended day (3:30 PM – 6:00 PM)
Front Office doors will be unlocked for drop off until 8:30 AM. After 8:30 AM, K-8 students must be walked into the office by an adult that will need to sign the student in to school using the School Check In system located in the front office.
When leaving campus, you must exit through the Front Office during the school day (8:15 AM – 3:15 PM) and not through the outdoor gates.
