Bike-A-Thon Announcement
The annual SHS Bike-a-thon was a success once again! 56 students participated on the day of the Bike-a-thon, riding almost 700 miles (695.25)!
The total amount raised in the form of pledges to students and donations from individuals and businesses was $15,784.76. Thank you to all who donated or pledged!
The top pledge collector was third-grade student Ada Schwartz. Top mileage was achieved by Mason Stark (4th- to 8th-grade boys), Myra Maxson (4th- to 8th-grade girls), Henry Kramer (Young 5 to 3rd-grade boys) and Ada Schwartz (Young 5 to 3rd-grade girls). We had beautiful weather and so many family members present cheering on our riders.
The funds benefit our parent-teacher organization, the Home and School Association, who supports the school with an annual gift of $10,000 for the school's operating budget as well as other miscellaneous expenses throughout the year.
The students would like to thank the Home and School Association for the bike-a-thon party last Friday, where prizes were awarded to all who participated and ice cream was enjoyed by everyone in the school.
