Dear Eastwood Heights Families,

As we approach Thanksgiving break, let’s make each day count! With only nine school days left, let’s encourage our Eagles to give it their all and rise together. Here’s a look at this week’s events and reminders:

Interim Testing Success - Our Eagles Soared!
A big shoutout to all our students for giving it their all during our recent interim testing! They truly “Eagled Up,” putting in their best effort and showing us what they know. These assessments give us valuable insights that will help guide our next steps in supporting each student's growth and success. We’re proud of our Eagles and excited to see the progress they’ll continue to make!

No School Tomorrow in Honor of Veterans Day
On November 11th, we’ll have a day off to honor our veterans who have served and sacrificed for our country. Let’s take a moment to appreciate their dedication and bravery.

Tuesday, November 12 - McTeacher Night!

McTeacher 5th Grade Fundraiser
When: 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Where: McDonald's on Lee Trevino
Come support our 5th grade students and teachers at McDonald's! Grab a bite, enjoy some time with the EHES family, and help us raise funds. Every meal counts toward making a difference!

Wednesday, November 13 - A Day for Kindness and Community!

• World Kindness Day
  Let’s spread kindness! Students, wear a shirt with a positive message with jeans, and let’s fill the halls with encouragement and joy. 💜

  Ambassadors, don’t forget to attend as we work together to make a positive impact on our school community.

Thursday, November 14 - School Spirit in Full Force!

• Eagle Clubs
  Dive into our fun, exciting after-school clubs where Eagles can explore their interests and build friendships!

• 5th Grade Hot Cheetos Sale
  Support our 5th grade students and treat yourself! Bring some cash and grab a snack to power through the day.

• 5th Grade Science Brain Power Academy
  Time: 3:00 - 3:45 p.m.
  An extra session for our budding scientists! Let’s ignite that scientific curiosity and keep the brain power strong!

Friday, November 15 - Clubs, Projects, and Kindness!

• You Matter Club
  Time: 2:45 - 3:30 p.m.
  Location: Room 102
  A space to connect, uplift, and remind each other that You Matter.

• Science Club
  Our science enthusiasts will meet to dive into exciting hands-on activities that bring learning to life.

• Thanksgiving Donations Due
  As part of our caring school-wide project, please remember to bring in any Thanksgiving donations to help those in need. Together, we’re making a difference one small act of kindness at a time!

Special Event: Eagle Robotics Club Competes!

On Saturday, November 16, our very own Eagle Robotics Club will be competing in the Superintendent's Cup! Let’s cheer on our talented robotics team as they showcase their skills and hard work. Go Eagles – we’re rooting for you to bring home the win!

We’re thrilled to announce that Eastwood Heights took first place in the feeder pattern attendance challenge! From November 1-8, our students showed outstanding commitment by coming to school each day, and it paid off! Thanks to your dedication, we've earned the traveling trophy and a school-wide celebration!

To mark this special achievement, we’re hosting a Glow Party in the Gym (details coming soon)! Get ready to celebrate with music, dancing, and lots of glow-in-the-dark fun. Let’s keep up the fantastic attendance, Eagles, and continue to soar high together! 🦅

World Kindness Day Home Challenge: Donate an item(s) for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. All donations are due by November 18th. Items requested are: roasting pan, canned fruit, stuffing mix, canned cranberry, canned green beans, mashed potatoes box, canned corn, turkey gravy packets, laundry basket, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie (not frozen), $20 gift card to any grocery store.

You still have time to purchase your tickets! The last day to buy is Tuesday, November 12.

Unit 3: Inclusiveness lessons will begin the week of Nov.11th- the week of Dec.9th.

Upcoming events:

• KiC school-wide Project 2: Thanksgiving Basket Drive due November 18th
• Extraordinary Eagle: Will be held on November 22nd. This event is dedicated to students who display exemplary characteristics of “Caring". Classroom teachers nominate only one student per classroom. This event is by special invitation only.

This year, EHES is partnering with EHS in efforts to donate Thanksgiving baskets to families in need. All items are due by November 18th. You may turn in all items to the front office to give to Mrs. Serrano, School Counselor or send with your child's teacher.
