Welcome Eagles!

The Half Moon Fire Department will be spraying the students with water, various water games and a dunking booth for students to dunk some of their favorite teachers! Please pack your child an extra pair of clothes and a towel. Parents are welcome to celebrate and volunteer at this special event near the mulch playground! K-2nd will attend the event from 1:00-1:45 and 3rd-5th grade 2:00-2:45.
Our Hunger Hero Food Drive starts Monday, September 9 and ends Friday, September 20. Please help us collect non-perishable foods to support our CHEW program. The class that brings in the most items will win a popscicle party.
Parents and guardians if you are interested in joining the School Improvement Team at Summersill, please click on this link. https://bit.ly/ssesit24-25 We need your assistance with making decisions for our school. Our first meeting is on Wednesday, September 11 at 3:45pm in the Media Center.
Your child should have received a SchoolStore envelop. After receiving the information regarding the SchoolStore, you will go to www.schoolstore.net to get signed up. Your child will receive a book buddy just for participating. This is a way for our school to raise money and help teachers get classroom supplies they need.
Our 4th and 5th grade students will be receiving information this week on the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System that allows users to submit secure tips to help at-risk people before they hurt themselves or others. If you would like more information about this app, please contact our school counselor or school social worker.
We love volunteeers! We will have another volunteer training on Monday, September 16 at 8:30am, 12:00pm and 3:45pm. You must attend a volunteer training yearly and get fingerprinted at the district office every five years. You do not have to sign up to attend, but we ask that you sign in at the front office. Trainings will last approximately 30 minutes. You will also learn how to get involved with the Parent Teacher Organization.
This week we will have a lockdown drill. Just as we regularly hold fire drills and tornado drills, this drill is a way to practice what to do in the event of an emergency.
If you are picking up your child in the carline you will need to click on this link in order to receive a car pick up tag.

SaySomething App
We would like to remind our families about the Say Something reporting platform.
Say Something provides students and adults a secure, anonymous reporting platform for concerns related to violence, suicide, bullying, self-harm and other forms of threatening behavior. Tips are received by trained personnel, who will notify the proper authorities, whether they be school administrators or law enforcement.
The platform is easily accessible via the 1:1 tools on student devices. Tips can also be submitted via phone, on the Say Something website, or through the Say Something mobile app.
School safety is a community effort, and we thank our students, staff, and families for their support as we work together to keep one another safe. Remember, if you see something, please say something.
