Normandy Park School
Week of December 16th
December 16th is a C Day.
Happy December, Normandy Park Families!
Get ready for a flurry of fun as we wrap up December with NPS Winter Spirit Week (additional information below)!
On Friday, NPS students performed for their families at our winter concert. It was great to see so many people show up to support our NPS community! Our young musicians did a phenomenal job! A special thanks to our music teachers, Mrs. Schwam and Ms. Carroll, for putting together a fantastic show. As always, they worked extremely hard with our students to support their growth- lesson by lesson!
Thank you to all who supported the HSA's Share the Magic Raffle. In addition to being a fun experience for our families and students, the raffle raised over $7,200! A special thanks to the HSA Share the Magic Raffle team and all parent volunteers. We truly appreciate all the hard work and effort it took to put together such a fun night!
Sincerely,
Christopher Miller
Principal of Normandy Park School

What a wonderful time of year. We already feel the Holiday joy!
Thank you Mrs. Schwam and Mrs. Carroll for an amazing concert. Our students did a wonderful job. Let’s take a quick moment to reflect on all the blessings and beautiful memories that 2024 has given us.
We have received many calls from parents asking about the stress of the holiday season and how to best teach their children.
Let’s work together to teach our children about the importance of family time during the holidays, not just the tradition of gift giving.
Although we give gifts to those we love, quality time is the most precious gift.
My family has started giving each other experiences instead of a sweater or a candle.
Below is a link to a reflection worksheet that discusses many things that may arise, and gives your children an opportunity to talk about different events/feelings that occur during the holiday season.
Hopefully, this worksheet will help to lead to productive conversations:
Being with each other and sharing the holidays makes this the most wonderful time of year.
For those who lost a loved one or a loved pet, we are sorry for your loss.
Please reassure your children that the grieving process is normal, and it is different for everyone. Reach out to those around you. You have a lot of support, through family, friends, and us at Normandy Park.
If your child is experiencing any challenges during this time or could use additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m here to help! Together, we can ensure every student's smooth and joyful end to 2024.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s social-emotional well-being, please contact me. I'm happy to help!
“While presents may be a delightful part of the festivities, the true magic lies in the intangible gifts of togetherness, gratitude, faith, kindness, and tradition’.” (Gregg Makin, December 6, 2023)
