Alfred Vail constituents cast paper ballots to vote for their favorite book character after hearing read alouds featuring each. Students learned about the electoral process, and talked about character traits, which parlayed into a digital citizenship and social emotional discussion. It addressed respecting differing opinions and remaining kind to one another when beliefs don't align. Staff served as early voters, filling out electronic ballots. Second grade students worked the polls, keeping things running smoothly, handing out stickers, sorting ballots and tabulating results... BRAVO to all !!! #Election2024
