We have 2 School Engagement Members who have completed their terms. We are looking for a minimum of 2 more adults to join our School Engagement Council before our September meeting. Please review the attached information about the SEC. Call or email our parent coordinator Ms. Lisbel or Ms. Sara at schneisx@milwaukee.k12.wi.us or complete the nomination form before our school-wide Open House on Thursday, August 29th if you are interested in joining. We will hold elections and voting during our school wide open house on Thursday, August 29th so that all family members are in place before our September meeting per the district policy. We are looking for families to represent our diverse school population. We meet once a month. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 5 pm in the school library. Our first meeting of the upcoming school year will be on Wednesday, September 11th at 5 pm.

Our 4th annual summer carnival is coming up in less than a month on Thursday, August 8th from 5 to 7 pm. Our summer carnival is a great opportunity to have fun with other students and families. There will be at least 15 different carnival games for kids to play. We need adults or older students to sign up to lead a game for 30 minutes or longer. The games are very easy to lead and play but we need to ensure that all the games have leaders to encourage and give out small, free prizes to all students who play the games. There will be a table selling t-shirts, water bottles, and mugs (cash or check only). There will be a food truck Taco Feliz. Proceeds from all sales go to our school's recruitment and retention team. Families are encouraged to bring baked goods or drinks to donate so that we can also sell sweet treats. Please review the sign up sheet and add your name to help us out on this fun summer event! Ms. Sara will be giving tours to interested or new families. There will information about the possible expansion available. This is an event you won't want to miss to have fun with Fratney families!

Nuestro cuarto carnaval anual de verano se llevará a cabo en menos de un mes, el jueves 8 de agosto de 5 a 7 pm. Nuestro carnaval de verano es una gran oportunidad para divertirse con otros estudiantes y familias. Habrá al menos 15 juegos de carnaval diferentes para que jueguen los niños. Necesitamos que adultos o estudiantes mayores se registren para dirigir un juego durante 30 minutos o más. Los juegos son muy fáciles de dirigir y jugar, pero debemos asegurarnos de que todos los juegos tengan líderes que alienten y entreguen pequeños premios gratuitos a todos los estudiantes que jueguen. Habrá una mesa que venderá camisetas, botellas de agua y tazas (solo en efectivo o cheque). Habrá un camión de comida Taco Feliz. There will be one calendar for the whole district new year. Please review this calendar before making plans for trips or vacations. Students must be in school 95% of the time or more which means they can only miss 1 day a month the whole school year. Students who miss more than 10 days of school a year fall behind academically and socially. Make a plan now to be in school every day on time.

You can purchase any of these items at our school carnival on Thursday, August 8th and our school-wide open house on Thursday, August 29th. All items cost $10 and support our school's recruitment and retention efforts. Bring cash or check!
